Word:

Pastor Ernest shared the Word, raising the question “What would one do if there is a house burning?”
One can be simply nosy, a spectator. Another can be brave and try to put out the fire. Still, another can,
instead of helping out with the solution, make the problem worse.

And then there are those who are trained to handle such emergency. They are even “willing to die.”
Entering the burning house, they can be hurt, persecuted, bad-mouthed; misunderstood. The Lord Jesus
saw a burning world, destined to hell, yet “‘di Niya pinabayaan.” “Tulad ni Kristo, sa pagpasok natin sa
service” we have to “be brave, willing to serve, ready to die”...and “must be trained.” “I-train natin ang
mga sarili natin to love, to forgive, like Christ.”

“In our willingness to serve, we have to be willing to sacrifice...”

Philippians 2:7-8; Galatians 6:9; Matthew 16:24; Philippians 3:10-11

AGENDA

1. Sunday Services Venue

The possibility of having Sunday Services back at the church, Poblacion Norte, was discussed. Pastor
Julius pointed out how our approach in ushering people into the awesome presence of God has to be
“holistic.” Having no distraction, in Centro church, is then essential. Pastor Jun voiced out what was in
everyone’s mind “‘Pag na-violate ang protocol, what will happen to the church?” Regarding the number
of attendees, “alam na natin ‘di natin ma-control.” Ptr Julius said the Worship Department is ready to
have (1) an overflow at the Youth Sanctuary and/or garage and (2) additional service/s, 5:00-6:30/7:30-
9:00/10:00-11:30, in order to be able to accommodate large crowds.

The results of the motions to either continue Sunday Services at Maddela Marvelous Grace Christian
School or resume them at Centro were:

The majority were in favor of resuming Sunday Services at Church of God, Poblacion Norte.
Brother Tony observed the giving of Offerings can be more orderly. Readying four (4) to eight (8)
offering boxes and ushers acting as marshals can ensure a better foot traffic.

Regarding the pews, each can sit a maximum of three (3) people. Two (2) gaps are needed to ensure
this. Ropes can be attached, marking an X, and/or red cloths, “na may printing, malinis tingnan”, to
indicate the spaces to be left vacant. Prints can be “COG Logo with a ‘no-doing-this/no-doing-that’
symbol” or “Worship Jesus – Please observe social distancing.”

With a maximum seating capacity of 50%, as set by the IATF, the Main Sanctuary can have a maximum
of 120 attendees. Youth Sanctuary, 30.

Pastor Mon concluded with “Try ng 1 or 2 Sundays, at ‘pag hindi kakayanin ang seating capacity, let’s go
for a third Service. Automatic na ito; no more meeting.”

2. Financial Report

(Please Refer to the Handout.)

3. Polycarbonate Roofing

Pastor Mon reminded the Council that a decision was already made for the repair of the polycarbonate
roofing at the garage. (“Ituloy dati nang plano na na-approve.”) The repairs are a timely one since the
garage will have to be ready for an overflow of Sunday Services attendees. And for the speakers to be
protected against the elements, i.e., rain and heat.

4. Worship Team Outing

The Worship Team, whose members exhibit not just excellence but professionalism, is due for a well-
deserved outing. For instance, ptra Nalyn gave a favorable feedback for their preparation for the 71st
Anniversary last June 27. Shew said the celebration was well-organized even though the team did not
have a lot of time to prepare for it. Ptr Julius pointed out a waiver is necessary. “Youth” members will
have to get their parents’ consent in order to join.

OTHERS

1. PAG-IBIG Contribution
It has been decided the church will provide pastors Mon, Nalyn, Ernest, Daphnie, Julius, Dada, Herwin
and bro Allan’s PAG-IBIG Contribution. It will be 200.00 pesos per person per month.

2. Overflow Speakers at The Garage

The Council has decided a 6,000.00 pesos budget be allotted for new speakers at the garage.

3. Air-conditioning Units’ Repair

There are two (2) air-conditioning units in the Main Sanctuary that need to be repaired. MMK, who did
the repairs in 2019, will be contacted by bro Allan.

4. Additional Media Equipment

Pastor Julius explained we have been using bro Clet’s camera Him and the team will still have to decide
on which brand and model to procure.

5. O.R.D.A. Outing

The Outreach, Relationship, Discipleship and Administration Departments can have their own outing.
Like a Workers’ General Fellowship. Since they are not as big as the Worship Department, they can have
theirs as a group. It can fall on a weekday; Saturdays being spent in preparation for Sundays’ Services.

6. Sariling Sasakyan Ang Simbahan

Pastor Julius voiced out the need for a church vehicle that can be used for ministry. Ptr Mon agreed with
the need for the church to have its own transport ministry, however Ptr Mon also mentioned the need
to have a proper guidelines and policies like that of COG Solano. Ptr Jun Olonan suggest that we first
have guuideline to avoid problems with the use of the church vehicle. So there will be a systematic use
of it (“Kung walang guideline, it can become a liability.”) Several policies such as:

...it will have to be booked before it can be used. First-come- first-served basis.

...the distance to be traveled and number of passengers are to be documented.

...“‘Pag hiniram, washingan at i-full tank.”

The Council will do more study...and prayer...of the church’s own transportation.

7. MMGCS Bus
It has been decided the school bus can be sold at 150,000.00 pesos.

8. Pastor Willie Cuarto’s Passing

Pastor Willie’s son, Victor, requested assistance – a Love Gift for the family. Sister Jasmin suggested the
amount of 10,000.00 pesos, in addition to July 4’s Sunday Services’ Special Offerings.
