Acknowledgements
First and foremost, I would like to thank my Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ because without him none of this would be possible.
Thank you for using a broken vessel like me to reach out to a
hurting yet destined nation. I thank you for the transparency
from darkness unto light. You are the author and the finisher of
my faith and in you is why I – have my being. I believe you called
each one of us like you called Moses and just told us to open our
mouths and you will fill it.

To my wonderful husband, Pastor Micheal Carn, you are one of

a kind. You have allowed me to be your Favor for 15 years and
counting. Because of your support I now walk as a Survivor and
no longer a Victim. So many doors and opportunities have come
because of my trials and tribulations. To my children Jay,
Brionne and Courtney Brown, you have allowed me to become a
great grandmother for Jariana by receiving my first experiences
and tests through you three. Now, I’m so proud of all your
accomplishments. I am a Proud Mama! To my siblings Gwen
Randolph, Anthony and Lamond Watson (both deceased), your
love and support and having to witness God calling you all home
early has taught me how to value family and to know that he is
in full control of our future. We love and miss you boys so much.

Finally, prayers, blessings, and prosperity to all those who have

sown seeds, watered, and to God for every increase.

Introduction
You may have been drawn to this book because you’re soul
searching. You may be looking for guidance of what type of man
God is sending your way. You may be trying to understand who
you are and why you’ve experienced the pain, heartaches and
disappointments that you’ve faced in your life. However, I’ve
come to tell you that there is a time and a place for everything
we face in life. The word says, “There is nothing uncommon to
man.” Life is a cycle that repeats itself from generation to
generation. Not all things are pleasant in our sight but, God said
it all works together for our good. We will never have the
understanding or the thoughts that God has. Just know that he
will bring you out of darkness into light. Transformation is the
process that leads us to our heart’s desires.

Join me down this journey as I flow in poetry through the stormy

trials of life only to find what was lost, my soul.

Don’t Get It Twisted
One of a kind, Original she can’t be duplicated.

Strong willed, determined and highly educated.

She has an awesome spirit that exemplifies fame.

But don’t get it twisted ‘cause she’ll put you to shame.

Someone God made different and set her apart.

Her love and her essence could tear at your heart.

Filled with integrity, not boastful, giving God all the praise.

Knowing her self-worth, a vessel that God would soon raise.

Yeah, men felt her weakness searched her like an animal

hunting for prey.

Asking God to have mercy on them and show her his way.

They took away her innocence, using her body and damaging
her soul.

The only thing in life that she would later find— that’s what
made her whole.

Now, don’t get it twisted as his offspring she shall inherit the
land.

Knowing now she was found holding on to his unchanging hand.

No, there were no physical scars but the inner ones that she
would carry for so long.

1
God showed how to turn her hurt and put it into songs.

A gift from above who moves with such grace.

Finesse, style and beauty that will put you in your place.

An anointing so powerful and a tone so unique.

With the power of the Holy Ghost that’s felt when she speaks.

A heart of pure gold with the ability to fight.

In love with the creator who holds all the might.

God said her enemies shall be scattered and will be clothe with
shame.

He said he shall reveal his glory and she will carry his name.

Her ministry is her past, such class and so exquisite.

A jewel for God’s kingdom, so don’t get it twisted.

2
Are You Walking In The Spirit or In
Your Flesh?
Are you satisfying your flesh with worldly desires with soft
touches, filthy mouths,

and maybe some A’liza?

This means you’re walking in your flesh and not in the spirit,
‘cause those things

are able to take you away

From the love of God and soon it becomes your idle,

Putting God in your back pocket as if he’s not entitled,

To be the head and not the tail.

To be above and not beneath.

To be the first and not the last.

Now, one thing you must remember is one day all those things
shall past.

Be in this world but yet not of it,

Not being led by your flesh but your spirit.

A Letter To My Mother
A Letter to My Mother on Mother’s Day

Dear Mom,

Here we are again sharing this day together,

Just knowing the joy you bring me having you as my mother.

When God created you he made you one of a kind,

A heaven sent angel who’ll always be mine.

There’s so much I want to say but I don’t know where to start,

Well, one thing I know is I love you and you’ll always have my
heart.

The day’s we spend together I shall always cherish and adore,

And the love you’ve given me, make me love you so much more.

How can I repay you for the things you’ve done for me,

You said God made me special and because of his blood I’m set
free.

You taught me how to have faith in the things I cannot see,

You taught me how to be successful and give God the victory.

You told me not to worry for nothing and how to continually

pray,

And how to cast my cares on him and watch him make a way.

Through it all you’ve never left me nor have I been forsaken,

5
You showered me with your love and even gave me your last
name

but that’s not all I’ve taken.

You cried when I cried and felt my pain when I hurt,

You allowed me to walk, stumble, and fall, then you dusted me

from the dirt.

It was you who placed no limits when I called you just to vent,

My, oh my, how time flies! Look at how it just went!

Just to sum things up, what I really want to say,

Is I hope you’re being blessed on this Mother’s Day.

Love,

Your child

Purposed
Many of the days I tried to find my way,

Couldn’t see straight from all this miry clay!

Life sometimes offered me a bone,

Always thought I’d walk this road alone.

The devil was angry when God called my name,

Because he knew one day my light would shine bright and

I would receive my fame.

God created me and the devil was mad,

Mad because when he tried to take my life my coat tail was all
he had.

He asked God to sift me as wheat but couldn’t take possession

because my aroma is so… sweet.

He marvels with anger just at the sound of my voice,

So, when God said, “take your hands off her”, he no longer had
a choice.

Oh, let me introduce myself because I go by many names,

Pastor, Prophetess, & Psalmist all powerful P’s that are all one
of the same.

The reason why I say this is because my father gave them to me

based on the scripture that tells me he knew who I’d be.

7
As God continues to give me understanding, the enemy’s tricks
are being exposed

Those tricks and schemes that he’s played over and over that he
thinks nobody knows.

8
The Voice of Faith
When there’s doubt in our relationships… we’ve walked by sight,

Because the voice of faith tells us what’s wrong and what’s

right.

It tells us all things of God without wavering or doubt,

And even when we place ourselves in awkward positions

God still pulls us out.

When we hear the voice of faith an enemy we won’t follow,

Because when we walk with God he adds no sorrow.

That means we must be a believer and know who’s our Father,

Cause by his word he’ll stand closer to us than any brother.

The voice of faith will allow us to see beyond our situation,

Knowing God is on our side and he gives us continual direction.

We’re even allowed to have faith as small as a mustard seed, it’s

enough.

You Stand Closer Than Any Sister
I don’t know how it all began.

But when I came into this world you were

introduced to me as my big sis Gwen.

You were never selfish to share our parents— you just made
room,

Room for what was once one now became two.

Being your little sister I watched everything you did,

Even when I was eight years old and you told me

you were having a kid.

I never passed judgment because you are top of the line,

And anyone who loves God as much as you is always a hero of

mine.

You grew up so fast and we soon had to part,

I bet you didn’t realize you were taking away my heart.

You never produced a daughter but you loved me like your own,

Reminding me to keep God first even though I’m now grown.

I thank you for your prayers that brought me back home,

And how you took care of mama and had to pronounce her gone

You’re always telling me you’re the oldest as if I don’t know,

11
But you respect me as your little sister which makes our love
grow.

It was an honor to have you robe me; I only wished mom was
here to see,

But, I know she watched from heaven as her arms covered me.

You keep everything and everyone in order

because that is what you were born to do,

And I just want you to know that I’m truly blessed to have a
sister like you!

I Love You.

12
Write The Vision
Write the vision and make it plain,

So, I can order the heavens to recite your name.

Write the vision and make it plain,

As I prepare a table before your enemies for all to see your

fame.

As you follow me in this world I’ll show you the seen and the
unseen,

Even though some I gave in parables when the time comes,

you’ll understand what I mean.

I’ll pour my spirit upon thee,

Vision and dreams the world shall soon see.

Signs and wonders will be displayed and the love for the me (the
Father)

will come what may.

So, write the vision and watch what I’ll do,

I’ll sign my name on the dotted line and make all your dreams
come true.

13
14
With This Ring I Thee Wed
With this ring, I thee wed,

And I’ll always love you is the words we both said.

I’ll take your hand and you’ll take mine,

Constantly showering one another with kisses one peck at a

time.

With this ring, I thee wed,

And I’ll always love you is the words we both said.

When trouble crosses our path we’ll hold on to the end.

We’ll stand like a tree planted by the water that won’t break nor
bend.

God said, “he who finds a wife, he found a good thing.”

They’ll seal their promise by giving this ring.

We’ll always share in our love, our dreams, and our hearts,

And we’ll always be together till death do us part.

With this ring, I thee wed,

And I’ll always love you is the words we both said.

15
16
I’m Still Here
One of God’s greatest creations came to me as a surprise,

From the time the doctor identified you and I got my first
glimpse,

you left me mesmerized.

My time on Earth was very well spent because I got the

opportunity

to watch you grow, watch you take your first step, say your first
words,

and learn your first prayer,

See, those are the times I cherished because I knew

a day would come that I would no longer be there.

At times when money was low and there was hardly any food to
eat,

I sacrificed and robbed Peter to pay Paul

just to provide you with bread and meat.

You know some days it got hard but we learned to survive,

Knowing one thing that has always gotten us through is having

God on our side.

Now, I look down on you from heaven and I see

sometimes your emotions go up and down,

17
Just remember I’m watching you, I’m praying for you,

and even though you can’t see me I’ll always be around.

If you close your eyes just for a second you’ll see me

and you’ll hear me whispering your name,

That’s because I’m still here in spirit although things don’t seem
the same.

I know it wasn’t by choice that I left here without notice but God
had a plan,

A plan the same as he has for you where one day you’ll see the
promise land.

Now, I must go because God has summoned me to continually

watch and pray,

And I’ll see you at the same place, and at the same time,

next year on Mother’s Day!

Love,

Mom

Let Us Peek Into Your Future
As you peek into your future what is it you see?

Do you see a strong soldier of God standing in the army?

Do you see yourself as a doctor, a lawyer, or the president?

If you believe in the Father he’ll always be your covenant.

Who said a black man can’t be a king, or possess the land,

own houses, drive nice cars, or take long walks in the sand.

Let us peek into your future and see what the Lord has in store,

He gives many showers of blessings along with so much more.

I see a wedding, funeral, and a birth taking place,

a graduation, a promotion, and all of God’s grace.

Sometimes the road ahead may not be clear and you may walk
into a brick wall,

But because the Lord has your back he’ll protect you from the
fall.

You may think you’ve been thrown a straight ball and find out it
has a curve,

That’s what the world calls the unknowing, the unseen,

or the one you seem to serve.

Let us peek into your future and see what the Lord has in store,

He gives many showers of blessings along with so much more.

20
You represent the present, the future, & the past,

But, remember only what you do for the father is what’s going
to last.

21
When a Man Finds a Wife
Hey Mr.? So what’s your name?

Are you single, are you seeing someone, or maybe you’re

engaged?

I like the way you communicate, oh yeah, and even your

fabulous look.

But why are you looking like I reeled you in with an unexposed
hook?

Maybe because my pickup line wasn’t strong enough for you.

Maybe because my approach isn’t something that you’re used

to.

Well, is it the color of my hair because I don’t mind a change.

I’ll get a make-over, I’ll get a job, and even change my name.

I know I’m marriage material because I know how to give my all.

I’m caring, understanding, and know how to pick up my man if

he falls.

So, tell me what is it that makes you not want to take my hand?

Oh, now I got it! I was supposed to wait on you because you are
the man!

22
23
For Better or For Worst
You said you’ll never hurt me you’ll always calm my fear.

I asked you, “How can you do this?”

You said by keeping you close and near.

When I told you about my past concerning the abuse I felt

You listened with such compassion as if your spirit just melted.

You said to me, “You’re flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone

And because of my vows to you and God I’ll never leave you
alone.”

Sometimes I miss the snuggling and the time we talk,

The nights when you held me close and the long walks in the
park.

You are my knight in shining armor who came to my rescue.

Even in the midst of my storms you said you’d walk me through.

We’ve both said some hurtful things that we must answer to

God.

That’s walking in the flesh and not in the spirit that has caused
us to fall hard.

Maybe we can start with I’m sorry, which may not be enough,

‘Cause the words we used are so painful even a dog wouldn’t

expect that stuff.

24
Now, where do we go from here— only God knows the plans for
our life.

And I promised you that we would walk in this fire

together when you made me your wife.

What I have come to realize is maybe we have drifted apart,

Because I’m looking from the inside and seeing your broken
heart.

But, if God has allowed this to happen it must be for a reason.

It all works out for our good as we cross into our next season.

If someone had prophesied this to me I would’ve said it was a

lie.

Now, I’m wiping away my hurtful tears and asking the Master
why?

We’ve finally come to the end of our journey and all we’ve found
is buckets of rain.

I pray He gives us strength to dodge the fiery darts that can

wash away the pain.

I pray we find ourselves so that we can become all He wants us

to be

‘Cause I know the Father has much more for us then our eyes
can see.

Love,

25
Your wife

26
A Second, A Minute, An Hour
Shh… don’t you hear it?

I hear the whisper in my ear! It started telling me that death

was near!

In March of ‘07, my mom confirmed my dream.

She also said, “Everything you dream ain’t always what it

seem.”

But, she was diagnosed with cancer.

Why God, why? Can someone give me the answer?

It was a second, a minute, an hour.

I know her life is in your hands ‘cause you are the highest power.

Looking at her go through the different stages of cancer

was so hard for the eye to see.

And watching her push through the aches and pains praying
God would set her free.

A second, a minute, an hour.

Someone’s mother, someone’s wife, a friend who was such a

delicate flower.

As the days turned into a week, a week became a month

and the fear of closing her eyes she soon had to face.

Unanswered questions running through her mind

27
but soon her faith she would embrace.

She said her goodbyes to those she loved the most.

Then said, “Lord, I surrender”, and gave up the ghost.

While in heaven she stands as a strong tower.

So, remember life is short, live it at your best ‘cause

no man knows the second, the minute, or the hour.

28
I am Who God Says I Am
You can’t put me in a box and expect me to shut up.

God has commanded me not to remove this cup.

The cares of this world aren’t my concern.

Laying hands on the sick, speaking His word is what I must learn.

He said if I keep my mind on him He’ll keep me in perfect peace.

So, when the storm comes my way the tides He will cease.

Before I was in my mother’s womb, He knew the road I would

take.

More wisdom and knowledge was the promise He’d make.

The plans He has for me is to prosper and be in good health.

To succeed in my future, to have security and wealth.

So, don’t hate me ‘cause I’m blessed and have been showered
with His love.

I am who I am because of the Man above.

29
30
Now I’m Found
I’ve lost some dreams before but none of them really mattered.

I learned to trust my creator and find the ones that were

scattered.

I’ve lost out on many jobs and a very good career,

but, I increased my knowledge while walking away from the

spirit of fear.

I lost some relationships I waited for my whole life,

but I became a pupil to learn the skills of how to be a good wife.

Cars and houses came and went one at a time.

But, I launched over poverty and there were hills I had to climb.

I suddenly lost my mama, someone who I loved so dearly.

I have to fight back my tears so I can see my future clearly.

The enemy stole my joy and kept me depressed.

But, I learned to trust in the Lord ‘cause he knows what’s best.

Sometimes my income was low and what I had was very well
spent.

I learned to cast my cares on Him as He allowed me to vent.

But, through it all I realized His mercy shall abound.

No more shackles holding me ‘cause what was lost I’ve now

found.

31
32
Let The Church Say, “Amen”
Well, we say we are all true Christians obeying and trusting God.

Not always what you see is what you get ‘cause the truth is
called a façade.

Well, we can say we would help the poor, feed the hungry, and
help those in need.

But, the truth is we’re hypocrites not even willing to plant a

seed.

Now, sometimes we’re misled by the deceiver time and time

again.

So, for all those in agreement let the church say, “amen”.

We’re quick to recite the scriptures ‘cause we feel we’ll

prove to others we’re saved.

When let the truth be told, we’re all experts of the sin our flesh
so often craves.

Oh, don’t try to hide now, you’re busted! The devil has told your
story.

And knowing God’s not pleased with you ‘cause He won’t get
the glory.

So, you ask what to do now? Well, I’ll tell you.

It’s time to confess your sin.

Now, you must remember if it’s not sincere

33
God already knows, so all who agrees let the church say,
“amen”.
