Create your own galactic empire and campaign your own society in a spectacular strategy game that
takes you to the bounds of the universe.

The final third of Paradox’s brilliant sci-fi strategy game, Stellaris, has a new ending. The last release,
the 2017 Utopia expansion, presented a one-dimensional path through the later phases of a
campaign. After four years, we have the newest add-on for the 4X game— Stellaris: Nemesis, the
most exciting addition to the Stellaris, featuring a new endgame by building on the systems
introduced in previous DLC.

The theme that Nemesis shoots for revolves around the central choice— will you save the galaxy or
destroy it? The skilled players might recall how the original endgame crises could trigger giant NPC-
controlled fleets. Now, with a new ascension perk on the Stellaris alien box, players can collect
Menace points through hostile actions like vassalizing, conquering planets, and just generally
destroying things. The new perk also allows factions to become crises instead.

EXPERIENCE THE NEWEST AND MOST EXCITING ADDITION TO STELLARIS IN FOUR YEARS

Federations, the previous expansion, established the galactic community— a galactic senate, much
like the UN, that brings together various factions into a single legislative body. Nemesis allows the
senate to appoint a galactic custodian responsible for handling major threats and has special
powers. So if destroying the galaxy is not your cup of tea, try saving it instead!

The galactic custodian is an enviable position of play, with exclusive executive powers such as the
ability to close a voting session impulsively or halt proposals from reaching the senate floor for a
particular duration. The existence of the custodian sanctions the passing of new resolutions such as
a navigational agency that makes travel across the universe faster or the establishment of universal
trade rules.

NEMESIS PROVIDES MULTIPLE OUTCOMES TO A GAME THAT WAS LACKING IN ENDGAME CHOICE

The play steers its expansion due to a new civic that enormously increases monthly influence and
diplomatic weight. Therefore, the seat of rank can lord over the rest of the galaxy by passing edicts,
rapidly colonizing systems, and swaying votes in favor. However, most of the new powers other than
the galactic fleet do not really help combat threats, and the journey from galactic custodian to
emperor feels more thematic than actually functional.
Halting a proposal in the senate can hardly be helpful when a Space Dragon is eating the planet! The
actual impact is from Imperium’s huge monthly influence, which overcharges generations of
resources and logistics with edicts and helps expansion.

The destruction of a star in Stellaris: Nemesis

Nemesis lets you perform a range of actions with spy networks like stealing tech and leading a
rebellion against the Empire by instigating a civil war. As part of the new espionage mechanics, you
can build the spy networks and the source intel by sending in special Envoys as per the new 3.0
update.

Strategize your rebellion route. You can create a divide in the galaxy by splitting it into two
federations— voluntary loyalists and rebel factions. Run operations that slowly reduce authority and
trigger secession. The civil war that breaks out can decide the fate of the galaxy. The galactic
community could be restored, but a white peace will cause a secession with the rebel systems
outside the Imperium. For a game that did not have a clear endgame choice a week ago, Nemesis
provides a hoard of outcomes.

A list of actions you can carry out in Stellaris: Nemesis

It all boils down to a series of choices in Stellaris: Nemesis. The general sense of dissatisfaction and
restlessness the endgame of Stellaris previously prompted, Nemesis breaks it down and delivers
splendidly. Players can now choose to save the galaxy, rule it, or destroy it.

STELLARIS ALIEN BOX EVENT [Orbital speed demon event chain]

The event generally appears in asteroids and can grant a permanent free trait to the principal
species of your empire. It is a five-stage event, and some stages present branching possibilities such
as unlocking the box right away, inspecting it first, or even selling it to end the chain quickly.

If you choose to keep the box, you are given an exclusive project to unlock it, further giving you
several choices. Depending on your choices, your main species will acquire a new trait. The original
incarnation of this event would only enhance a negative trait into a positive trait or present you with
the ‘best’ version of a current positive trait. Since then, the Stellaris alien box has undergone several
changes.

There are five stages to the event chain:

 ORBITAL SPEED DEMON – STAGE ONE

 ORBITAL SPEED DEMON – STAGE TWO
 ORBITAL SPEED DEMON – STAGE THREE
 ORBITAL SPEED DEMON – STAGE FOUR
 ORBITAL SPEED DEMON – STAGE FIVE
Nemesis reinvigorates recently introduced features while offering choices that stimulate player
agency and long-term strategy to achieve objectives at the end of a campaign. A new and compelling
endgame was long overdue for Stellaris, and we finally have one at last.
