b) i) explain the lesson in the passage adobe ( luke 16:19-23)

This parable conveys that worldly and earthly possessions are of no benefit in the afterlife. Those who
have suffered on Earth will receive their reward in Heaven.\

choose one passage of scriptures that may be applied to material wealth. Explain the meaning of the
passage.
Luke 19:1-10
Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a
chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he
could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him since Jesus
was coming that way. When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come
down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed him
gladly. All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.” But
Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to
the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” Jesus
said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For
the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

You should not be attached to material things, instead, they become closer with Jesus

Every day, you pass a homeless person who lives on the street corner. Your friend tells you that it is
unnecessary to offer aid to the person. As Jesus said we will always have poor people with us
Using appropriate biblical references, respond to your friend on this issue and be saved

The permanence of poverty is not an excuse to dismiss the poor's predicament, but rather to
approach them with charity. This scripture from Deuteronomy proves it: Because the poor will always
be among us, Jesus says we should "therefore" be even more generous.

b) when you have made your lord your refuge, he will protect you and shield you from all evil/ harm.
this meant that you should

The success the Lord has given you is a blessing and should be treated as such, in turn, you should
praise him for providing you with these benefits, and seek a closer relationship with him. This is a
mistake made by many and the Lord has warned his followers about the consequences that follow.
This warning was made known as the parable of the rich fool. The parable of the rich fool talks about
how God continued to bless a man but instead of the man using his increase to further his will with
God he was interested in accumulating his growing wealth. So the man then went on to build larger
barns in place of the existing ones and planned for early retirement, but Jesus had other plans as that
was his last night on earth. Jesus then goes on to close the story by saying “so is the one who lays up
treasure for himself and is not rich towards God” this should teach you that wealth cant secure
prosperity and a good life because, the Lord is the one providing you with these benefits and if he is
shown no gratitude for the things he has provided, he can easily take it away. To further pursue your
whealth you should give thanks to the Lord and he will continue to provide you with fruitful crops.
