What is your ultimate dream in life?

Indeed, we have different types of dreams. Others may want a good career, financial
stability, or build their dream houses but other people want happiness, peace, and
contentment. After I heard the answers of my friends, I realized that all of us don’t want
material things as our ultimate dream. Based on our answers, I can see the matureness
because If we will answer this question at a younger age, I think it would be much different
like houses or whatever your friends say. Our answers now are based on our perspectives
and do not rely upon others which means at this age we know what we want already.

For you, what matters most in your life?

In this question, most of us agreed that family, relationship with God, friends, and ourselves
should be an important part of our life. While only one answered reaction and opinions of
his family matters the most. Based on these answers, family is the common word which
means we view family as an integral part of our existence. Also, we do not forget our creator
and savior when we talk about important things in our life because our life is from him.
Although our world is getting more advanced in everything, we do not forget to put God
and family first before everything else which is a good characteristic of being a Filipino.

What worries you most about the future?

The future might bring good or bad news to us that is why we worry by thinking of it. When
I ask this question to my friends I can sense their fear just by their answers and voice. All of
us have common fear for the future which is becoming a failure. We are afraid that our
sacrifices in the present won’t have any meaning in the future. I, myself, am guilty of this
although no one is pressuring me I can’t handle the disappointment from myself. I can
consider as normal to all of us since we are years away from entering the real world. We
only want to achieve our dreams which is why we are afraid of losing them.

In what ways do you think can we show respect to others who are different from us?

We know that we are different thus our culture, opinions, and beliefs may vary but it doesn’t
mean we are divided. To respect our differences, we must learn the principle of acceptance
and understanding as they are the key to harmoniously living with each other. My friends
also agree with these as their answer to this question focuses on acceptance and breaking
the discrimination in the present day. We must appreciate our differences instead of making
them feel they don’t belong through interacting and living peacefully with them. Just like in
MSU, the students came from different ethnicity but we are interacting with one another as
we don’t see differences as hindrances and make sure there is unity in diversity.
Overall, having this deep conversation with my friends allows me to see their mature side
since we mostly joke every time we see each other. It let us realize that we are so close to
exiting teenage life thus we must be ready in facing the world outside school. All of us are
afraid, uncertain, or confused but we must accept our fate as we cannot escape the future.
The only thing that we could do is to do the best that we can as we are the maker of our
destiny. Moreover, we might be different in terms of dreams, opinions, or beliefs it that does
not mean we cannot be friends. After all, we are all human beings thus we are all equal. We
should work together as a community to make a world where discrimination and war are
abolished and peace will dominate. Let us be united in a world full of diversities.
