ONLINE COURSE REGISTRATION

ABSTRACT

The project entitled as “Online Course Registration” is to design and develop the application
package for well secured dynamic application. This package is originated using front end as
ASP.NET, coding C# with SQL Server. This package requires Visual Studio IDE in the
server for processing the WebPages and client systems requires Windows operating system
and one web browser like internet explorer.

This project aims at creating a Courses portal for a campus/organization. This allows
registered users of the system to join a course available in the site and access the materials
published for the course. People can register themselves as students of a course or Faculty for
a course. When a person registers himself as a Faculty, an approval mechanism should be
triggered which sends an email to the Administrator for approving the person as a Faculty.
There will be an admin approval page where admin can approve the faculty members for the
course.

The course home page should contain the title of the course and a brief description. There
will be a discussion board for each course where students can interact, an announcement
section, which contains the latest announcements, and a course content section which gives
the links for the material available for the course. For faculty members there will be an extra
link for uploading the course content in a zip file format. The course content should be html
pages, which should be uploaded in the zip file format. There should be a mechanism for the
faculty members to create a test for the course specifying the test title and a set of multiple-
choice questions and duration of time of the test.

Admin module
Only admin can access the page. Admin has the authority to provide username and password
for new users. Checks same username and password exists or not and also checks whether all
the fields are entered.Admin gets the username and password.

Student Module
In this module the admin login their session using their user name and password after login
their admin used to fill student course registration (user name, type of course…etc) after
completing student registration by admin at the completion time of student will be send to the
student mail.

Student Login

In this module the student login (user name, password) allocate by the admin to the student
using this ids they can get (new password).

Faculty Details

In this module the admin login using Admin fill the staff registration after completing
the staff registration by admin he can view staff detail and he allocate the completion time of
staff will be send to the user mail.

Faculty Login
 In this module the staff login (user name, password) allocate by the admin to the staff using
this ids they can get (new password).

Course Category

In this module a course is a unit of teaching that typically lasts one academic term, is
led by one or more instructors (teachers), and has a fixed roster of students. It is usually an
individual course. Students may receive a grade and academic credit after completion of the
course.

Upload And Download Book

Admin also have the rights to restricts the student and give the access to the student to upload
file their details to access only view the admin. While upload the file information, the path
name, file name, date etc, student can download files and also view the files .While download
the file information, the path name, file name, date etc,

Payment Details
In this module student details payment process include the student id, student name, amount
etc,.

Report

Only Admin can access the page and check the report. Username, from date, to date.It
retrieve’s all the information stored from different tables. Requested report is generated.
