HEAVEN OR HELL – WEEK 2

INTRODUCTION: There are two places and either of this two will be the destination of man when they die,
heaven or hell. The objective is to help people understand the seriousness of the Bible regarding of this
two places because these places are both eternal. Heaven promised eternal happiness and hell promised
eternal punishment.

1. DISGUSTING PLACE OF HELL

a. HELL IS A PLACE FOR SINNERS AND REBELIOUS UNTO GOD WHEREBY THEY ARE BEING HELD
WAITING FOR THE JUDGMENT DAY

2 Peter 2:4
4 For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, in gloomy pits of
darkness, where they are being held until the day of judgment.

b. HELL IS A PLACE OF SERIOUS ETERNAL FIRE, SADNESS AND DEEP FRUSTRATIONS, WHERE
WHATEVER FORM OF HAPPINESS HAS NO PLACE IN IT

Mark 9:48
48 where "'their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.' NIV
Matt 13:49-50
49 This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from
the righteous 50 and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of
teeth. NIV
c. DON’T YOU KNOW THAT HELL IS JUST A TEMPORARY PLACE OF PUNISHMENT? BOTH DEATH
AND HELL WILL BE THROWN INTO THEIR FINAL DESTINY – THE LAKE OF FIRE!

Rev 20:12,14-15
12 I saw the dead, great and small, standing before God; and The Books were opened, including the
Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to the things written in The Books, each according to
the deeds he had done.

14 And Death and Hell were thrown into the Lake of Fire. This is the Second Death-the Lake of Fire. 15
And if anyone's name was not found recorded in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the Lake of Fire.

2. THE PERFECT PEACE OF HEAVEN

Rev 21:3-4
3 I heard a loud voice speaking from the throne: "Now God's home is with mankind! He will live with
them, and they shall be his people. God himself will be with them, and he will be their God. 4 He will
wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain. The
old things have disappeared." TEV
a. HEAVEN IS PERFECTLY OPPOSITE OF HELL
b. HELL IS A PLACE FOR PERFECT SUFFERINGS BUT HEAVEN IS A PLACE FOR PERFECTLY
ETERNAL HAPPINESS AND PEACE
c. THERE ARE NO TEARS, DEATH, GRIEF, CRAYING NOR PAIN IN HEAVEN ONLY HAPPINESS AND
PEACE FOREVER
d. HEAVEN IS PERFECTLY PEACEFUL BECAUSE NOTHING IMPURE CAN EVER ENTER IT.

Rev 21:27
 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only
those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. NIV

APPLICATION:
GOD REVEALED THIS TWO PLACES SO THAT WE CAN UNDERSTAND THAT DEATH IS NOT THE END
OF LIFE BUT ONLY A CHANGE OF LOCATION. IT’S EITHER HEAVEN OR HELL. GOD WILL NEVER
FORCE US TO CHOOSE WHAT HE WANT, HE SIMPLY OFFERS IT BY ACCEPTING THE GIFT OF LIFE
THAT CAN BE FOUND IN CHRIST.
John 14:6
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through me. NIV
CONCLUSION:

IF YOU CHOOSE HEAVEN YOU CHOOSE JESUS CHRIST TO BE YOUR SAVIOR AND LORD. YOU
CHOOSE TO SURRENDER YOUR WILL TO HIS WILL. YOU CHOOSE TO BECOME ONE OF HIS
DISCIPLES, LEARNERS, SCHOLARS, STUDENTS, OR FOLLOWERS.
