RECAP (YOU CAN DO IT JUDY ANNE SABAN)

A pleasant day to all of my fellow students, and to our teachers who

are present here in our webinar. I would like to congratulate all of us for
having a successful orientation yesterday. And I would also like to express
my heartfelt gratitude to the amazing speakers because we learned a lot
from them.

I was assigned to recap our webinar yesterday, so please, lend me

your ears as I share and you may take note also if you have missed some
information from the topics.

Yesterday, November 3, we participated on our first day of

orientation seminar for pre-service teachers held here in zoom.

The first speaker, Dr. Marie Vic C. Velasco, the Education Program
Supervisor of Mathematics in City Schools Division of Puerto Princesa,
discussed the DepEd Policies and Updates. She introduced to us the DepEd
school forms and she emphasized the role of class advisers, subjects
teachers, as well as the school head. She discussed the DepEd Order no. 3,
series of 2016 or the Hiring Guidelines for Senior High School teachers.

Moreover, she tackled also about the DepEd Learning Continuity Plan
or DepEd Order no. 12, series of 2020. She elaborates the purpose,
definition and principles of the deped order.

Furthermore, she emphasized the adoption of the Most Essential

Learning Competencies or MELC as it is a part of the DepEd's response to
develop resilient education systems, especially during emergencies, and will
enable the agency to focus instruction on the most essential and
indispensable competencies.

And lastly, she ended the session by introducing and discussing the
learning modalities and the factors to be assessed before choosing a
modality.
Our second speaker, Ma'am Glenda A. Almeniana, the Education
Program Supervisor in English Curriculum Implementation, from Puerto
Princesa City Schools Division presented her topic about DepEd Order No.
31, series of 2020 or the Interim Guidelines for Assessment and Grading in
Light of the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan.

She discussed also the DepEd Order No. 8, series 2015 which is the
Policy Guidelines on Classroom Assessment for the K to 12 Basic Education
Program, and also puts an emphasis on the two types of classroom
assessment. Which were the formative and summative assessment tools,
adding on the rubrics for assessment, samples of assessment tasks, the
teaching, learning and assessment process, and the feedback and
remediation.

She also tackled the transmutation table and role of technology which
plays a substantial role in helping teachers as well as the students.

Our third speaker, Maam Mary Hope Jagmis Gabinete, discussed

about the Classroom Management in the New Normal which involves
managing both the contents that students are learning and how that
content is being delivered.

She included the management of space, management of materials and

movement of people which refers to the pace of a lesson.

She emphasized the duties and responsibilities of a teacher, how

competencies in the MELC are identified, the learning modalities, and the
strategies to be used.

She also added the digital management and she gave tips for online
classroom management.

Furthermore, she leaves a meaningful message to adhere the 4

qualities that a teacher should have which are plan, lead, think and connect.

Our fourth speaker, Ma'am Maylyn G. Dilig, Senior Education Program

Specialist discussed about the New Normal Policies and Guidelines on the
Deployment of Pre-service Teachers for Field Study and Teaching
Internship for School Year 2020-2021.
She mentioned the delivery of experiential learning courses and the

And lastly, the duties and responsibilities of the cooperating schools, the
cooperating teachers, and the pre-service teachers.

And that's it, I hope this recap helped us to take down what we missed
yesterday, especially since some of us are having difficulties with our
internet connections.

Thank you for listening!

May God Bless us all.]
