WHAT

WILL
I DO

Scenario #1: You dream of being a part of the school’s basketball
team. To achieve that, you think that you should practice every day.
Two of your classmates who are already members of the team
constantly size up your efforts. They make fun of you for practicing
and for working hard. One day, they asked you to hang out with them.
They told you that if you will join them and do things for them, they will
recommend you to the team coach. What will you do?

Surely, I will not join them. I am not the type of person who asks for help or
assistance because I know that I can accomplish my dream on my own. First
and foremost, why would I hang around with someone who mocks me? I'm not
that naive to do something like that. In addition, I'll make an extra effort to get
the interest of the team's coach. It's preferable to get promoted for making an
effort rather than for doing nothing, because if I did, I'd just accept my reputation
as a weak and foolish person.
Scenario #2: You are worried because one of your friends has
been hanging out with your classmates who are pressuring
her to try drinking alcohol. One of them is her long-time crush
who even invited her to come to their house during the
weekend because his parents will not be there. Your friend
came to you to help her decide. What will you do?

I will give her my best advice in the hope that it may help her avoid danger. First and
foremost, I will inform her of the potential consequences of continuing to hang out
with them, such as getting into problems if she drinks alcohol or, worse, being raped
by the males in the group. I'm not exaggerating because, whether you admit it or not,
males are scary and can't be trusted when you're a girl. Second, if she refuses to
listen to me and continues to go, I will accompany her so that I can keep an eye on
her. I will not allow my friend to get into trouble, and I will defend her to the fullest.
Scenario #3: Someone in your class cheated on a test. You know
for a fact that he, together with your friend, were writing answers
on a small note before the test. When the test papers were given,
your teacher congratulated him for getting the highest score.
You are confused about reporting that he cheated as your friend
might also be punished as well for helping him. What will you do?

For me, I will not immediately tell the teacher that my classmates have cheated. Of
course, I don't want anyone to be ashamed because I know the feeling of being
embarrassed. I'll tell them that I'm aware of what they did and will give a warning that
if they do it again, I will not hesitate to report them to the teacher. It is up to them
whether they will do it again, and whether the teacher or I caught them; all the blame
is on them because, first of all, they are not my responsibility. At the very least, as
their friend, I did my part.
