Rules of Unikart Series 2021

Article 1:
The EHL Automobile Club is organizing an endurance karting competition dedicated to students
enrolled in a university or another institution of higher education named “Unikart Series 2021”.
Participants can register their teams from July 15, 2021 to September 20, 2021.

Article 2:
The registration of a team implies the total and unreserved adherence of each competitor to all
articles of the presented rules.

Article 3:
In order to register for Unikart Series 2021, a team of 4 to 8 drivers, all of whom must be already
enrolled in a university or another institution of higher education by the date of the race. The
copy of a valid student card will be required when registering a team.

Article 4:
The participation fee for Unikart Series 2021 is CHF 550 (five hundred and fifty Swiss francs) per
team. The participation fee is final and must be paid in full upon registration in order to secure a
spot in the race.

Article 5:
The registration fee includes the driver’s pass to race in the Unikart Series 2021, the prizes offered
to the winners, and the activities offered onsite. The registration fee does NOT include additional
costs such as food and beverage or other onsite activities that may require a fee.

Article 6:
The organization will provide each team with a 270 cm3 kart and helmets for the team members.
Wearing a helmet is mandatory throughout the entire race while being on track.
Article 7:
All teams, thus each participant to the race, must respect the rules presented by the track
marshals throughout the race day. The rules will be reminded before the qualifying session and
race. Hereinafter referred to as EHL Club Automobile and Karting Vuiteboeuf, the organizers
reserve the right to disqualify any team for breaching instructions definitively.

Article 8:
Any driver not attending the pre-race briefing will not be allowed to participate in the race.

Article 9:
It is strictly forbidden to make any modifications to the kart. Only the mechanics of Karting
Vuiteboeuf are authorized to do so. A team found guilty of cheating will be immediately and
permanently disqualified from the race.

Article 10:
For everyone's safety, alcoholic beverages and any other illegal substance are prohibited within
the circuit and during the entire event. Breaching this article will lead immediately and without
possible recourse to the disqualification of the team concerned and the denunciation of the
individual to the police.

Article 11:
Each participant declares to have no medical contraindication relating to the practice of karting
and undertakes in this regard to personally assume the risks of their own parcourse during the
race, as well as those created to other participants. Participant will renounce in all cases to the
exercise of any recourse against the organizers for any damage likely to result from the
participation in the race.

Article 12:
The participants expressly authorize the organizers to potentially use their name, photo, and/or
evolution during the race in any publicity or promotion related to this event without any
compensation.
Article 13:
The participating teams are allowed to be accompanied by supporters and could benefit from the
services offered to the registered driver if they are prior communicated to EHL Automobile Club.
The supporters are NOT allowed to take part in the race under any circumstances.

Article 14:
The organizers reserve the right to cancel the Unikart Series 2021 if circumstances/conditions so
require. In this case, the teams will be reimbursed the full registration fee, excluding any other
kind of compensation costs.

Article 15:
It is mandatory for drivers to only race with the team they registered and drive a minimum of 20
minutes during the race (excluding qualifications). Breaching this article will result in being
excluded from the race.

Article 16:
At least two driver changes are expected every hour. A penalty of one lap will apply in case of
non-compliance.

Article 17:
According to the marshals’ judgement, any incorrect overtake (i.e., contact) will be penalized by
15 seconds either at the next change or added to the final classification.

Article 18:
Overtaking is forbidden in the pits: 30 seconds penalty if not respected.

Article 19:
Overtaking under yellow flag: 15 seconds penalty if not respected.

Article 20:
The driver who steals the start will be penalized 30 seconds.
Article 21:
It is forbidden to short-cut the track, otherwise it results in immediate disqualification. Pay
attention at the chronometer and do not pass through the grass.

Article 22:
If a team damages their kart due to their behavior on track, 15 minutes of penalty will apply.
Depending on the damage, the race could also be ended for the respective team – subject to
organizer’s decision.

Article 23:
Any team members who had or have a contractual relationship/worked with Vuiteboeuf Karting
or equivalent will race with the team under the “Out of competition” category. Any team racing
under the “Out of competition” category will not be eligible for the podium due to race fairness.

Article 24:
Please note that registration or participation in proposed activities is an individual choice. As
such, participants must be aware of the possible risks involved by the activity they wish to
participate in. Furthermore, they must not participate in the proposed activities if they suffer
from illnesses or other types of medical issues (physical or psychological) that are incompatible
with the proposed activities or put them at risk. They must also, in any case, have a valid and
appropriate insurance policy that covers them. If they have a doubt as to whether their insurance
covers them for the type of activity they want to do, they must contact their insurance company.
EHL Group companies cannot be held responsible for any event that may occur to a participant.
