1. Before reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I thought that


the terms first-world country and third-world country are derived in the later years
and solely based on the nation’s economic standing.
However, reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I now think/ realize that
the terms first-world country and third-world country are derived since the time of
Cold-war and was first used to describe Western capitalist countries while the latter
points to other countries besides the Soviet Union.
2. Before reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I thought that
all third-world countries are the same when it comes to economic standing and
economic stability.
However, reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I now think/ realize that
even though classified in the same group, there are still lots of differences within
these countries.
3. Before reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I thought that
globalization only helps countries to improve and gives positives effects.
However, reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I now think/ realize that
globalization also creates problem to cities as well as enlarging the gaps between
various countries

1. How exactly does globalization increase the gap between the rich and poor
countries?
2. How far is the Philippines from getting out of the list of third-world countries?
3. What can be the possible solution that would help us achieve the economic stability
of first-world countries?
