Homework: An anecdote.

When I was a student, a University´s classmate got married and he had invited me ( he
invited me / I was invited) .The wedding was doing on (in) Tranqueras, a little village on
Rivera. I really wanted to go, but the place wasn´t near of nothing (anything). It was on the
middle of the field and I didn´t have a car.
Suddennly, China (this was his nickname), called me and he said that the wedding´s vicar
was departing since (from) Montevideo and he could pick up me at 3 AM.
How amazing!! I´m going to the party and I being (am going to be) with my friends.
This (that) night I was waiting for the priest with my Mum on the doar of my house. I didn´t
remember the day but it was in (on) February. The weather was fresh and he was late…
When he got to (arrived), my Mum didn´t like (him) much, because the priest didn´t wear
(wasn’t wearing) his uniform and he was a young man.
She thought, “ this is a lie”
The car was a Mehari the travel was a low speed and the wedding was at Midday….
Well, the journey began.
The travel was awful, the vicar didn´t speak. I thought that he was angry or uncomfortable.
When I saw the Black River I felt joy, We were near.
Now on the motorway (we) only saw field and cows.
Out of nowhere the car stopped…
Oh my God ! (Luckily, I was with a employee (one of his employees))
The fuel was ending! (We were running out of fuel) Where we got? (where had we gotten)
We dealed work (I don’t understand this part), he would wait on the motorway and if
somebody passed he would ask to help (for help). I walked searching (for) people that they
helped us (to help us).
Before I was (I had walked for half an hour when I found some workers) walking for half hour
for a solitaire way I found workers, but they didn´t have a car , they had horses. The dogs
wanted to bite me. Slowly, I returned to the motorway without succes.
Luckily, the “man” had gotten fuel and he was waiting for me.
When we got to the wedding a friend when he saw scream “ the Vicar and his wife get to”
(a friend screamed “the vicar and his wife arrived”)

A disastrous journeys ended with laugs and my friends coul be get (could get) married.
For the return I took a bus.
