My story happened four years ago.

My boyfriend and I went to London on

holidays. As all tourists, we spent a long time sightseeing. One Sunday
morning I had the great idea to visit Buckingham Palace. We planned (to) buy
a ticket online to take a guided tour of the palace.

We leave (left) the hotel early in the morning, and went (to) the underground
station. While we was staying here, we had tried to open the maps app, and..
these didn’t work without WI-FI (While we were there, we tried to open the
maps app but it didn’t work without Wi-fi).
Immediately I asked a Londoner how to get to Buckingham. A few minutes
later, we were able to take the underground.

When we get (got) off, we had begun (began) to walk to our destination. A
small number of streets away, we beginning (we started) to see a crowd and a
little after, the street was cut off. The Queen's guard was changing their turn
and they didn’t let us pass! We lost our tickets and couldn’t know (see /meet)
the palace. We couldn't believe it!

After a lot of hours turning around (walking/ moving), we got lost in London.
We had to ask again how to get back to the hotel, and this time just a tourist
lent us an old map that he had and I took a photo. Finally, we arrived at the
hotel very tired.
