Monsoon Preparations:

1. Standard Monsoon Action Plan preparation and implementation. Start of


plan from November of every year for the monsoon preparedness for next
year. Continuous monitoring at HQ Level and Area Level. Early approval
and award of work well before monsoon. Activity wise timeline made and
implemented. (Adopted in NCL & MCL)
2. A team of safety, Excavation, E&M, survey & Geo Tech made inspection of
vulnerable mines before onset on monsoon to apprehend danger / risk and
suggest remedial measures. (Adopted by ECL)
3. Regular liaison with meteorological department for rainfal! aterts and its
communication till mine level. (Adopted in WCL)
4. Mock Rehearsaldone mine wise. (Adopted in BCCL)
5. safety Management Plan is being reviewed in respect of monsoon
activities. (Adopted in BCCL)

Production Preparedness:

1. Preparation, monitoring and implementation of 5 years production


Programmed for deployment of Departmentar HEMM and HOE patches.
(Adopted in NCL)
2. Estimate for outsourcing Contracts processed 6 month before completion
of existing projects. (Adopted in NCL)
3. Preparation, monitoring and implementation of Dump Management
according to Departmental Dumping and outsourcing dumping. (Adopted
in NCL)
4. Monitoring of Coal & 0B Production through OlrDS (operator lndependent
Truck Dispatch System). (Adopted in NCL)
5. Successful implementation of electronic detonators to control size of blast
material. (Adopted in NCL)

HEMM Maintenance:

1. Tirnely survey off, grounding and premature survey off of un-reliable


equipment. Advance procurement action against the survey off HEMMs
have been initiated to phase out un-reliable un-safe equipment (Adopted in
MCL)
2. Condition based monitoring of HEMMs (Adopted at CCL, WCL, NCL)
3. NDT Testing of vulnerable structures of HEMMs on yearly basis. (Adopted
by CCL)
4. Bumt Oilcollection and fresh oil refilling system. (Adopted in SECL)
5. lndigenous development of machines for cost saving. Hydraulic Operated
Lifting Device was developed indigenouslywhich may be used for lifting any
job (above 53' height), but mainly it will benefit us for lifting the Dumpers,
water Sprinklers, Tire Handler, and Motor Graders etc. from ground level
during removal and fitment of tires. other innovative indigenous
developments done. (Adopted in WCL)

1. Simulators use for training HEMM operators. (Adopted by NCL)


2. Dragline Dump monitoring at every 50m with respect to design of dump
(Height, slope Angle & width of corridors) and properry recorded.
Maintenance of joint high wall inspection record. (Adopted in NCL)
3. Lock out rag out system is taking place in shut down procedures. (Adopted
in CCL, BCCL)
4. lndigenously developed, low cost, Borehole extensometer for monitoring of
OB dumps- Mungoli, Neeljai & Umrer Mines of WCL. (Adopted by WCL)
5. Safety Audit of electrical installations (Adopted by BCCL)
