Fleeting Summer

Summary

Follow a lost man find his way in the world.

Notes

I'm just writing this for fun and as practice to improve my writing, so forgive me if i never
finish this or the quality isn't good.

To me, the end of the year isn't December 31st, but instead the beginning of summer.

It feels increasingly natural every year to mark summer as a new year. Summer is the start of a
new happiness, one that is fleeting, but present in the best way possible for those brief three
months. Summer is a newfound freedom that I will revel in until it's inevitably gone. A freedom
that gives me what I need to not give way to perpetual melancholy, something I fear will eat me
alive one day.

As with anything in my life, summer brings anxieties with it every new year. My uncertainty of
summer provokes me to fear it. I'm scared the happiness of last summer isn't going to reciprocate
itself. I'm scared that last summer was my last time being happy and free.
