This chapter provides the procedures to download the 9500 MPR current release
software into a 9500 MPR system.
It is recommended that this procedure be read in its entirety before proceeding. If there
are any questions contact Nokia.
It is recommended that this procedure be executed by qualified field service engineers
who are trained on the 9500 MPR.

The following items are required:
Software kit identified in the 9500 Microwave Packet Radio Release Notice
Ethernet cable to connect to a Core module (crossover or straight-thru) or to the CT
port of an MSS-1c, or connection over an existing Ethernet network
Laptop or other PC with 9500 MPR current release CT application installed
Administrator ID and password to log in to each 9500 MPR shelf
IP Address or host name of each Network Element
9500 MPR System with current equipment as described in the 9500 Microwave
Packet Radio Release Notice

To correctly install the craft terminal software, the target computer must meet the
following minimum system requirements:
PC HW Configuration
± CPU: AMD Atlhon/Intel Celeron/Intel Pentium 4 or higher
± RAM: 1 GB (suggested)
± Min. disk space: 1,5 GB (available space needed for log files, JRE excluded)
± Min. resolution: 4:3 equal or higher 1280x800 pixel
± DVD-ROM Drive: 24x
± Primary Interface: Ethernet Card 10/100 Mbit/sec.
Additional requirements
Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0+ or higher, Mozilla Firefox 12.x or higher, or Google
Chrome 20+ or higher, Windows Edge 20 version 3 (on Windows 10), or Safari 8.0
Browser requirements for WebCT:
± Browsers supported by WebCT: Internet Explorer 11.0 or newer, Firefox 35.0 or
newer, Chrome 35.0 or newer, Windows Edge 20 version 3 (on Windows 10),
Safari 8.0
For MPR-e provisioning, the PC used shall be able to tag VLAN, in order to connect to
the MPT through the TMN in-band VLAN. Otherwise the PC shall be connected to a L2
switch with GE interface and capable to tag VLAN.

The following procedure describes the steps required to install a new MPR Network
Element with the current release software.

If you are running with the Windows Firewall enabled, or another software-based firewall
or anti spyware on this PC or external devices, you may need to allow exceptions for
certain components of this application. See Configuring the Windows Firewall (Optional)
for more details.
f If you have performed these steps, and the application continues to have problems,
check to see if the firewall or anti-spyware software is set to block programs without
confirmation. If programs are being blocked without confirmation, change this setting to
allow confirmation, and restart the Craft application to determine if additional exceptions
are necessary.

Based on the files copied, one or two icons are placed on the desktop.
On the desktop a link to the WTPMS in offline mode is also automatically created.
