LIGHT MOTION SENSOR  TECHNOLOGY

MOTION DETECTORS ARE SMALL ELECTRONIC EYES THAT

DETECT INFRARED WAVES—HEAT WAVES THAT RADIATE
FROM MOVING OBJECTS. WHEN THE DETECTOR SENSES AN
OBJECT MOVING ACROSS ITS FIELD OF VIEW—ESPECIALLY
WARMER OBJECTS SUCH AS PEOPLE, ANIMALS AND CARS—
IT ELECTRONICALLY TURNS ON THE LIGHTS.

THE LIGHT STAYS ON ANYWHERE FROM 1 TO 20 MINUTES,

DEPENDING ON HOW YOU PRESET THE TIMER. THEN THE
DETECTOR AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS THE LIGHT OFF UNLESS
IT CONTINUES TO SENSE MOVEMENT. A PHOTOCELL
DEACTIVATES THE LIGHT DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. A
MOTION SENSOR LIGHT HAS A SEMICIRCULAR FIELD OF
VIEW OF UP TO 240 DEGREES AND A DISTANCE RANGE,
ADJUSTABLE ON MOST DETECTORS, THAT EXTENDS TO 70
FT. OR MORE. AN OUTDOOR MOTION SENSOR LIGHT WILL
REACT TO THE MOVEMENT OF YOUR DOG, AN APPROACHING
PERSON, A PASSING CAR OR SOMETIMES EVEN WIND-
BLOWN LEAVES.
PIR MOTION SENSORS

PIR sensors allow you to sense motion, MICROWAVE SENSORS

almost always used to detect whether a
human has moved in or out of the sensors
range. They are small, inexpensive, low-
power, easy to use and don't wear out. For
that reason they are commonly found in
appliances and gadgets used in homes or
businesses. They are often referred to as
PIR, "Passive Infrared", "Pyroelectric", or "IR
motion" sensors.
LIGHT CONTROL SENSORS
Microwave sensors, also known as Radar, RF or
Doppler sensors, detect walking, running or
crawling human targets in an outdoor
environment. Microwave sensors generate an
electromagnetic (RF) field between transmitter
and receiver, creating an invisible volumetric
detection zone. When an intruder enters the
detection zone, changes to the field are
registered and light ON automatically. 

The light sensor is a simple electrical circuit, which can

be used to control  (switch ON and OFF) the electrical
load appliances like lights, fans, coolers, air conditioners,
street lights, etc., automatically. By using this light sensor
circuit, we can eliminate manual switching as the loads
can be controlled automatically based on the daylight
intensity. Hence, we can describe it as an automatic light
sensor.
