Conference Overview
After two virtual annual conferences in 2020 and 2021, the next
Annual Conference on Deep Foundation Technologies for
Infrastructure Development in India is an in-person event this year.
The fun and fanfare are back again with power packed technical
sessions during the conference to be held on 15-17 September 2022
at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. The Conference will offer a
wide forum of deep foundation professionals to present, discuss
and debate many aspects of the latest technologies appropriate for
the speedy execution of deep foundation for major infrastructure
projects in India. DFI of India is collaborating with IIT Tirupati
and Indian Geotechnical Society Tirupati Chapter for this mega
event to be organised at Fortune Select Grand Ridge, Tirupati.

About the Conference
11th Annual Conference DFI India 2022 will be held during 15-17
September 2022 and the proceedings from the conference will help
the participants to deploy good work practices in their projects
benefiting by time/cost savings. Completing the foundations in
time means completing the project on time, if not well in advance.
The conference will have five technical sessions on three days
namely 15,16 and 17 September 2022. Advancing the conference
dates to September is a conscious decision to overcome the stress of
unpredicted monsoons and weather situations in November.
The first session will start with conference inauguration followed by
keynote presentations. The second session is a special one on QA &
QC Aspects of Bored Piles and Diaphragm Walls.
The third and fourth sessions will have keynote presentation,
contributory paper presentations and panel discussion apart
from corporate presentations. Parallel sessions are planned to
accommodate papers on wide range of topics.
The highlights of the fifth session on the third day will be the
GroundWork and WiDF hours. The delegates can use the third day
afternoon and the following Sunday for Sri Balaji Darshan at the
famous Tirupati Temple.

Deep Foundations Institute of India
DFI is an international non-profit association of engineers,
contractors, manufacturers, equipment suppliers in the deep
foundations and excavations.
DFI of India was registered at Chennai with the Ministry of
Company Affairs as a non-profit organization in 2013, following
its second event in Hyderabad in 2011 and the inaugural Deep
Foundation Technologies for Infrastructure Development in India
conference held in Chennai in 2012. These events were followed
by highly successful conferences in Mumbai (2013), New Delhi
(2014), Bangalore (2015), Kolkata (2016), Chennai (2017),
Gandhinagar (2018), Hyderabad (2019) and virtual conference in
2020 and 2021. Several seminars and workshops were organized in
different cities in India.
The DFI of India mission is to help the Indian foundation industry
on a continuous and sustained basis in measurable steps, become
professional, and embrace new technologies for faster development
of India. The chapter looks to provide a platform for constant
interaction for all stakeholders of the Indian foundation industry,
including international agencies via seminars, workshops and

Tirupati is famous for the Venkateswara temple in the sacred
Tirumala hills at an elevation of 860m. One of the most important
pilgrimage centers in India, the temple draws millions of pilgrims
and is believed to be the busiest pilgrimage centre in the world.
Lying at the southern tip of the Eastern ghats in Andhra Pradesh,
the district has a number of perennial water falls and vast forest
cover. Tirupati town itself, has several temples and is famous for its
red wooden toys, copper and brass idols. Tirupati has for centuries
remained a destination divine and this feeling grows on one as
one goes round the various temples and spots of natural beauty
surrounding this major town.
The Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati
The Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT Tirupati),
established in 2015, is an autonomous Institute under Ministry
of Education, Government of India. It is declared as an Institute
of National Importance under the Act of Parliament of India
(Institutes of Technology Act, 1961).
Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati is the first among the 3rd
phase of IITs, announced in 2014, to have its foundation stone laid
in March 2015. IIT Tirupati started functioning with the support
of its mentoring institute, IIT Madras, from the academic year of
2015-16. The academic program was launched in August 2015
by admitting students in the B.Tech programme in the fields of
Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

chapters of Indian Geotechnical Society. Dr. K. Mallikarjuna Rao of
Dept. of Civil Engineering S.V. University College of Engg. Tirupati
