Expressions of quantity
a lot of, much and many
We usually use a lot of in affirmative sentences,
and much and many in negative sentences and
questions.
We use many with countable nouns, and much
with uncountable nouns. We can use a lot of with
both countable and uncountable nouns.
There were a lot of people at the concert.
There wasn’t much time left to get to the station.

We use a few with countable nouns, and a little

We use some, someone/somebody, something, etc.
