Gbanunu Soup – A traditional
Medicinal Soup from Ondo (Modified
recipe) - Yeside
December 20, 2017 At 8:40 am

[…] This is my interpretation of the Gbanunu

Soup. Gbanunu means ‘colon cleanser’. Gbanunu
soup is a traditional Soup from Ondo State. This
soup is also called Marugbo Soup and it is similar
to the Black soup (Omoebe soup). The star
ingredient here is the Marugbo leaves –
Clerodendrum Volubile(also called Obnetette;
Beletientien). […]

Gbanunu is different from

Marugbo..Marugbo has its own leaf
separately while gbanunu is the
combinatorial different leaves…Ikale and
Ilaje eat Marugbo specially and the Akure
and Ondo town people eat
gbanunu..Marugbo leaf is therefore
different.

Thank you for this information. When I

researched earlier, I found out that marugbo
leaves is one of the leaves used for Gbanunu
soup. After seeing your comment, I went
searching again. Thanks for this. I will
review this particular post. Many thanks.
