It is believed now days that Artificial intelligence is possible and we are already using it,
but to what extent is still a debatable question.As this generation is the most technically
developed on the face of this planet after mechanical revolution and IT advancement. But all
the nations are in race of Artificial Intelligence. “Artificial Intelligence can be defined as
developing machines with brains.” The intelligence abilities just like humans. It isn’t a very
recent idea; we can find this concept in world war ||. The world had discovered 2 types of AI.
Artificial Narrow Intelligence and Artificial General Intelligence.
Artificial Narrow Intelligence
We see ANI is already in use all around us, Tesla electric car, Google, and many other
applications are using this technology.
Working of ANI: It consists of two things data base and algorithm. For example, in
medical field, X-ray results of different lung disorders are fed to memory of computer and a
complex program is written by programmers. When ANI system is developed engineers, we can
get very fast and different results. Whenever a patient goes for checkup, AI system will try to
match the X-ray results with already fed data and will detect the disorder with the help of its
data base and algorithm.
Is this real intelligence or intelligence of engineer programmer who write the program for
machine?
It seems to be intelligence, but it isn’t. that’s why the word ‘Artificial’ is used.
Artificial General Intelligence
It is also known as superintelligence. The main goal of AGI is to develop machines which
can think as humans. It is possible in two ways.
● Gene Editing
● By developing consciousness
Gene Editing: it isn’t artificial intelligence in actual, but increasing intelligence of already
existing AI by means of gene editing.
Consciousness Development: In this case we have to develop consciousness in non-living
silicon-based life. It’s impossible to make it happen. We have to understand our
consciousness and to reproduce in this lifeless bunch of atoms. But in reality, no human has
a finest idea of what consciousness actually is. So, the quest of super intelligence without
comprehending our own consciousness is none other than a day dream. (lennox, 2020 )
