basketball because it directly causes
scoring which determines the outcomes of

A layup is a shot near the basket,
usually off the backboard. For a layup,
you run towards one side of the
basket, jump, and lay the ball off the
backboard into the hoop. Practice
layups from both sides of the hoop,
and with both your right and left
hands.

by scoring a two-point field goal, being
fouled in the act of shooting, and
scoring one point on the subsequent
free throw. A line on a basketball court

Hail Mary shot gradually came to
denote a long, low-probability pass,
typically of the "alley-oop" variety,
attempted at the end of a half when a
team is too far from the end zone to
execute a more conventional play,
implying that it would take a miracle for
the play
