The E-Career Fair 2022 webinar was conducted via Facebook live on the UCU
Psychological Assessment and Counseling Center page. The topics that were discussed are
Personality Development, Effective Resume Writing, Good Relationship With Co-Workers,
Flexibility in the Workplace, and Tips on How to Use Online Platforms for Job Applications. This
webinar enhanced the capabilities of graduating students from Urdaneta City University with
different topics and resource speakers that will help us to be good, quality, and productive
employees in the future.

The first resource speaker is Ma’am Mary Rose A. Uy, MBA and her topic was Personality
Development, it was mainly focused on personality enhancement and 10 great ways to improve
personality. First, she explains Personality Enhancement wherein enables people to create a good
impression about themselves or others. Also helps us build and develop relationships with other
people. After all, personality development is about building our capacities, enhancing new skills,
working on our weaknesses, and transforming them into strengths. Moreover, the first resource
speaker also provides 10 great ways to improve our personality. She emphasizes that having a
good personality is more vital than having a good look because if someone has a good personality
they are more likable and interesting to be with. It doesn’t matter at all whether you are good-
looking or not, you have to be well-behaved and possess inner beauty and you will be praised
everywhere. At its most fundamental level, personality refers to a person's distinctive patterns of
thoughts, feelings, and actions that make a person unique. Furthermore, the first resource speaker
ends her presentation with a quote “Personality development will help us gain recognition and
acceptance from the society. As well as the people around us, it makes an individual discipline
punctual and assets for his/her judgments.”

The second resource speaker is Ma’am Jeralyn Ann M. Grace and her topic was Effective
Resume Writing, she emphasizes key points to be included in a resume and gives tips on how to
create a strong resume. As well as providing steps in writing a resume with an example. First,
Ma’am Jeralyn defines and elaborates on what a resume is, wherein a resume should highlight our
strongest points, assets, skills, and what would separate us from other candidates that are aiming
for the same position that we are applying for. As we all know, a resume will not alone get us to the
job but it will be a ticket for us to get the job interview that we are aiming for. So, we need to craft
and tailor a resume to the type of position that we are seeking for. After that, Ma'am Jeralyn
discuss the steps of writing a resume and she explained it thoroughly since it will help us to create
a strong resume when we are applying for a job. The second resource speaker reminds us that
whatever we have written on our resume should match the cover letter because if they don’t go
together it means that we are faking one. Furthermore, she ended her discussion by explaining the
Dos and Don’ts in resume writing.

The third resource speaker is Ma’am Raquel D. Pascua, Ph.D. and her topic was Flexibility
in Workplace, she explained thoroughly why we need to be flexible in the workplace, the guidelines
on how to implement flexibility in the workplace, and best practices for flexible work. First, Ma’am
Raquel defines what flexibility is and gives an example scenario in the workplace. Flexible means
being able to quickly adapt to new circumstances as they arise such as work-from-home
arrangements and compressed work weeks. Flexibility in the workplace is mutually beneficial
where workers achieve superior work-life harmony and companies start to see the fruits of their
employees’ best solutions wherein the employee can work from home without stating the operation
and the industry can still benefit. Moreover, the third resource speaker gives highlights on the
guideline on how to implement flexibility in the workplace. As well as explaining the best practices
for flexible work that will help us in the future. Furthermore, Ma’am Raquel ended her discussion by
reminding us that we have to be flexible not only in the type of job that we had but we have to be
flexible as human beings.
The fourth resource speaker is Sir Eleuterio S.C. Sison, MBA, MPA, and the topic was a
good relationship with co-workers wherein he elaborated in a very detailed explanation. Sir
Eleuterio start with why a good relationship is so important in the workplace wherein it has the
potential to improve the mood of employees, making them subsequently more productive. Also,
employees may feel more connected to a company if they develop close relationships with their co-
workers. Moreover, he discusses and gives 6 highlights on reasons why we need to have a
positive relationship with our co-workers. Sir Eleuterio shares and elaborates the four golden rules
of a co-worker’s relationship and these are; be lovely, be innovative, respect the bosses, and
sustain healthy competition. Furthermore, he also elaborates on the observable and realistic ways
to maintain a good relationship with co-workers and gives an example of a scenario in the
workplace. Sir Eleuterio ended his discussion by giving a quote “It is not uncommon for employees
to find themselves in a situation where they are not universally loved within their workplace.
Imagine that you have colleagues who are curt, callous, and just plain cold toward you. What will
you do to get your co-workers to like you better?”

The last resource speaker is Ma’am Maricel D. Erama, EdD, MBA, and her topic was tips on
how to use online platforms for job applications. Ma’am Maricel starts with why use online platforms
because different companies all over the world use online recruitment in recent years. Since, it is
the advent of ICT led to the 21st-century job market trend and the known advantages of using
online over the traditional way of recruitment of application and hiring process along with time,
money, and ease of use. As future job applicants, we should have the awareness of basic
knowledge skills on how to use these online platforms. Moreover, Ma’am Maricel discusses and
gives examples of the two online platforms and these are job boards and career sites. As well as
giving 7 highlights on tips on how to use online platforms for job applications. Furthermore, she
ended her discussion by giving a quote from Steve Jobs “Your work is going to fill a large part of
your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only
way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.
As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”
