Practical Research 2

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

a. Define quantitative research,


b. Illustrate the characteristics of quantitative research; and
c. Differentiate the strengths and weaknesses of quantitative research.

II. Subject Matter

III. Procedures

a. Developmental Activities

b. Motivation
The teacher will give an activity entitled “PictoWord”. The teacher will read the direction
and the mechanics of the game.

Direction: In Pictoword, the students will read two pictures to form a word. The puzzle can
be a combination of pictures.

c. Presentation of the Lesson

The teacher will introduce the topic by giving an activity to the students entitled “Jumbled
Words”. The teacher will read the direction to the students.

Direction: Rearrange the jumbled letters to find the correct words about research.

d. Discussion

The teacher will ask the students what they noticed about the activity a while ago. Then
the teacher will start the lesson by asking the students about their ideas in quantitative
research. After that, the teacher will discuss what research is, the characteristics of
quantitative research, and its strengths and weaknesses.

e. Application

The teacher will give activities to students to check their mastery of the discussion.

The teacher will show students research statements. Then, the students will determine if it
is true or false.

Direction: If the statement is TRUE, the students will react by raising the heart button. On
the other hand, if the statement is FALSE, the students will submit the like button.

The teacher will sum up the lesson by asking questions to the students.

IV. Evaluation

The teacher will give a task to the students. After that, the teacher will ask random students to
read Tagalog quotes about research. Also, the teacher shares motivational quotes with students
after she ends the evaluation part.
Direction: In a sheet of paper, formulate 2 quantitative research questions about each topic.

1. Public order and safety (Labor strikes, crime, drug addiction) 5pts

2. Communication Media (Newspaper, Cellphone, Facebook, Instagram) 5pts

V. Assignment

GOOGLE IT
Make a synthesis of the different kinds of quantitative research. Write your assignment on a
short-size bond paper.
