THE RESULT OF OBSERVATION AND INTERVIEW

AT PONDOK PESANTREN ASSYAFI’IYAH

Based on the result of observation and interview at Pondok Pesantren

Assyafi’iyah on Sunday, October 27, 2019 we know the real situation and
condition in this place. The place of Pondok Pesantren Assyafi’iyah is in Jl. Raya
Bungah behind sweet market. First, When we arrived in this place, we observed
the situation and condition all “Santri” who are doing their activities such as
cleaning, cooking etc. After that, we interviewed one of core administrators and
she said if there are sixty until sixty five “Santri” of junior high school in this
place. For the schedule of daily activities are starting from daily activities, weekly
and annual schedule. In daily activities, they do activities like a: (pray together,
maos kitab kuning, rok’an, diniyah, taqror etc). For weekly activities, they do
activities like a: (qiro’ah, muhadloroh, diba’an, sholat tasbih etc). For annual
schedule, they do activities like a: (haul abah Maliki, maulid Nabi Muhammad
SAW, and majas). In daily in activities they use Javanese to talk with others. They
use “ngoko” to talk with their friends and they also use “krama inggil” to talk with
elders. In Pondok Pesantren Assyafi’iyah there is not English language in their
language. They assume that English is very difficult for them because it is
difficult to learn. So, we will create a media in the form of an English book that
useful for Pondok Pesantren Assyafi’iyah.
