KHADIJA IBRAHIM ABUBAKAR’S VIEW ON LIFE

Life; what does living mean?

Concepts:-

✓ Origins

✓ Challenges

✓ Biggest fear

✓ Acceptance

✓ Peace

✓ Humanity

Origins

Life means living. Breathing alive, being able.

Challenges

This is the most broad concept in life. There are many challenges which include;

• suicide

• anxiety

• Health issues

• Mock/bully

• Friends

• Harassment etc.

A lot a lot of them! These are just the ones that I could think of. I bet you got a lot
from that big mind of yours😉

Biggest fear
All people around the world have something they extremely fear which rekindles
the adrenaline🤤. In this topic I’m not discussing on that type of fear, this fear is an
internal struggle. I might love to hear your beautiful opinion on this.

Acceptance

Acceptance🤔... a person to overcome his fear, anxiety or any worries and accept
what’s in front of him, the future. The past should always be the past. Never let the
past trouble you.

Also patience goes in line with acceptance in LIFE.

Peace

Peace should always be in line with acceptance👆🏼. Peace is Love💗

Humanity

In today’s time, this term humanity is useless, am I right?

What I summed up isn’t much and looks quite miserable ☹️I’m sorry if it does !
But nice that you are here, I can hear your beautiful amazing opinions. Upon doing
so my ideas might recuperate and it might thrill you 😉🤣

AHMAD SHEHU GACHI’S COMMENTARY ON KHADIJA’S VIEW

What is life? What does living mean?

Life in simple terms is existence. It’s a gift, a power, an opportunity

provided and a blessing bestowed. Life is profound and at the same time simple. It
contains mysteries much learned yet not uncovered. Life contains many journeys,
some filled with happiness, joy and satisfaction, while others filled with sadness,
pain and bitterness.

Concepts of life
 ORIGIN: One of the greatest enigmas of the Universe is the existence and
emergence of life. How could something living arise from nothing ? Where
is the dividing line between chemistry and biology, between the abiotic and
the biotic, or is there any? And what is ‘life’ in the first place? Thankfully, I
believe Islam has answered that question and it’s something miraculous and
beyond our comprehension.
 CHALLENGES: Life is a roller-coaster ride filled with unexpected twists
and turns. A person can either embrace it by enjoying your life, learning
from the experiences, or that person can rebel against life’s challenges,
resenting every moment of it. The latter will resist a person from every
growth and development while the former will allow a person to learn from
those challenges and become a better person.

I believe challenges in life take place so that you can prove yourself as a better
person. Every challenge is an opportunity for personal growth and self-
improvement. A person should use what he/she have learned and experienced as a
means to grow become a better version of his/her self.

I remember my dad telling something on a Sunday night, he said “ you will

experience many challenges and setbacks in life, you have to be strong enough to
face them”. I never forgot what he told me that day, and I don’t think I ever will.

You’ve mentioned some of the challenges humans face in life, I would like to add
some.

Loss

Loss is an inevitable part of human life. It doesn’t matter if it is resources, an

opportunity, or a relationship, but what does matter is that there is a chance that
you have lost or will lose something very important in your life.

From what I understand, loss is one of the biggest challenges in life. It can feel
sudden, unexpected or troublesome. Sometimes you may even grieve for a sudden
loss of someone or something valuable to you. It’s definitely hard but a person
need to accept it and move on.

Failure

There won’t be a single man alive who has not failed at least once in his life. To
grow up, one must experience failures. Failures allow you to evaluate your
behavioural choices. When you fail, you are getting a chance to review the
decisions and choices you made, to determine where the fault has happened.
Reviewing the decisions and choices you made is an invaluable exercise that will
help you improve. Failures won’t resist you from your success, but it is the light
that will show you the path to travel. You should overcome the failures of your life
rather than sticking onto it.

I remember a famous saying by Winston Churchill which states “success is not

final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts”

Establishing a Moral Compass

Determining what is right for you is a big challenge for many people. people may
agree with one ideology today and another tomorrow. It is in your hands whether
to change your mind, but it is your responsibility to decide your path.

What you believe in, has an impact on your journey to becoming a better person, as
your self-improvement depends upon your sense of right and wrong.

Fortunately, both you and I are Muslims, Allah (S.W.T) has set the perfect source
of guidance for us as Allah (S.W.T) mentioned in the holy Qur’an:

“Verily We have revealed the book to you in truth for instructing mankind. He that
receives guidance benefits his own soul, but he that strays injures his own soul”.
[39:41]

Quran clearly discriminate between right and wrong so that mankind can prevent
themselves from harm or deficit.

Allah (S.W.T) also says:

“.. a guidance for mankind and clear evidence of guidance and discrimination
(between wrong)”. [2:185]

Allah (S.W.T)says again and again so that we can benefit us from the guidance of
Quran:

“Lo! This Qur’an guides to that which is most upright”. [17:9]

Above mentioned all verses proves that Quran is the only source of guidance for
mankind and human beings can get success in this world as well in the life
hereafter by spending their lives according to Quran.
Mind Games

Your mind can be a tough opponent in your path to becoming a better person.
When you are not in the right mood, your mind can pipe out all kinds of negative
thoughts and can fill your head with fear and anger.

Your mind can play games with you which will restrain you from achieving your
goals. It controls all kinds of viewpoints and will see to it that you are in control of
everything. On the contrary, it can derail you from your path. What you need to do
is to keep your mind awake, and not keep it idle. Negatives thoughts and fear takes
place in a mind which has been kept idle. Mastering your mind will let you
overcome this challenge and focus on your path to becoming a better person.

Overcoming Inferiorities

There might be things you have experienced since childhood, which were out of
your control. Growing up poor, and having not many resources can be a part of
these experiences. Letting these thoughts and experiences rent space in your mind,
will let them haunt you. They can affect you in a bad way and will transform you
from a good person to a worse one. A person should try to overcome these
inferiorities and believe in his/her self. Never let these experiences haunt you.
Embrace the present and do what you need, to become a better person.

 BIGGEST FEAR: I’ve said a lot on challenges, I will try to pipe it down
this time.
What is fear? Fear is an emotion, but it is one with a long history among
humankind. Fear has led to many states and changes within the human
environment. Fear is the force that originally motivated humanity to leave the state
of nature. Some believe it’s mankind greatest ally, others otherwise. Do you know
what I believe? Fear can take advantage of us and we can also take advantage of it.
We should use fear to break our limitations and not allow it to control and direct
our life.

My biggest fear right now is returning to my lord without a stable imaan, good
deeds and not receiving his rahmah. In the same zone, dying without completing
my Qur’an harda and working in accordance with the Qur’an, because i dont want
to lose the greatest honours reciters receive on the final day. And also because I
want to repay my parents; for the greatest gift a child can offer his parents is
making sure they are among that procession given to every parents of every
reciters. I want to hear the answer to this question -What is your greatest fear?

 ACCEPTANCE: you’ve said it all on acceptance but let me add a few

words

To begin with Arthur Rubinstein quote “Of course there is no formula for success
except, perhaps, an unconditional acceptance of life and what it brings.” We need
to develop the habit of looking at whatever happens through a positive mindset
instead of a negative, defeatist one. People discover that they are happier and more
peaceful when they accept what had happened instead of constantly fighting to
change things. Yes, acceptance is a choice, a hard one most definitely, but a
choice nonetheless. In my opinion, it is the key to convert momentary happiness to
enduring happiness. It helps you move from feeling happy to actually being happy.
Practicing acceptance prepares you to live in this changing world, where you never
know what’s going to happen next. Acceptance is like protecting yourself with
your own shield. To clarify something, acceptance is not at all related to weakness,
and is definitely not a synonym of conformity or mediocrity. We all need to learn
how to identify when it’s time to persist and when it’s time to accept. One thing
that makes acceptance much easier is to list all the possible explanations for why
you’re experiencing something. Finding the lesson or purpose behind every
challenge will help you embrace it instead of fighting it.

 PEACE: the concept of peace is very diverse but the one that intrigues me is
the concept of peace of mind. Bruce lee once said “All in all, the goal of my
planning and doing is to find the true meaning in life – peace of mind.

Peace of mind is something that we all desire, whether we know it or not. We want
to feel peaceful so that we can enjoy life fully. Having peace of mind does not
mean that you are removed from your everyday life, but instead you are living in a
calm state while fully engaged in life. It is very to maintain peace of mind
constantly, this is because there is always something that is going to come and
shake things up in life. For some people like you mentioned, peace of mind can
come in the form of acceptance, just accepting where a person is in life right now,
that is in process, and that it is enough. Especially when things are difficult and
challenging, being able to step back, observe, and reflect, helps a person accept
where he/she is in the moment.

Life will not always be good, there will be struggles, but if we can approach these
times with pliability and acceptance, we can move through our struggles more
peacefully. Knowing that change is constant can be comforting because then we
know that whatever difficulty we are facing, it will pass.

In simple terms, peace of mind is the state where you are trusting yourself,
knowing yourself, and expressing your honest self.

 HUMANITY: Wikipedia defines humanity as “ a value linked with basic

ethics of altruism derived from human condition”. It also symbolises human
love and compassion towards each other.

You said in today’s world, the term humanity is useless. Let me provide a few
perspective on this. The question will now be is man in decline? Tough question -
if you answer yes to the first part, I would suggest the next thought should be
‘What is my part in the decline?’ to answer the second part. But, some people
would suggest the decline is found in the pessimism behind the belief that we are
in decline, because we tend to act as we believe. In other words, we mope rather
than hope.

Some people believe mankind as a whole tends towards moving forwards and
backwards simultaneously - we continue to decline at the same time we continue to
grow. We are more humane socially, for example, but perhaps not so much as we
think personally. Are we growing colder in places or just turning our backs on
ideals we think sound nice but in essence cannot or will not be practiced as a whole
because that’s not what we are?

But pondering on all this is not really important to me. I believe every individual
should hold on steadfast to his/her humanity and implore others to do so, as
changes begins at home.

This concludes our discussion on the topic “life”. I know it’s too long but I felt that
I should give it my best because that is what you deserve. I would be honoured if
you point out any mistake you see or any suggestion you are willing to share.
Thank you.
