people?
2. What were the factors that influenced the tension which starts the siege in Marawi?
3. How did the Philippine government respond to Marawi battle despite threats?

Brief Description

The Marawi Siege took place in 2017, May 23 on the island of Mindanao. This
started when the Philippine army tried to capture the head of a militant group named
Isnlon Hapilon, that pledged allegiance to the Islamic State. On the day of the terrorist
attack, the President declared Martial Law in the whole city of Mindanao. However, this
declaration even led to much worse tragedy wherein it caused a great impact to the
majority of the places in Marawi ruins.

This topic aims to identify the historical events ever existed to Marawi during the
war. Considering the fact that the terrorist incident was the longest urban battle and a lot
different in itself because of the magnitude of the casualties and the destruction that
shocked the whole nation. This paper will delve into the experiences of people of
Marawi during the battle and how they recover. Also, it will also reveal how the
government responds in this kind of situation.
