Good day!

I am Shanna Dawn Patecion, a fellow from the

mystical Islands of Dinagat, a 2nd year Bachelor of Science in Mining
Engineering student. I am one of the students of Mr. Johnny
Bolonggaita for this subject from the section k1.

I am about to give you my personal reflection about the

statement we can know many things but we cannot always be wise.

Socrates once stated, “The only thing I know, is that I know

nothing.” Everything we do is bound to give us new experience, a new
knowledge, new realizations, a wisdom that’ll always remind us that we
do not know everything.
This has always been the truth and accepting this fact is an act of
acceptance of how people are constantly changing and learning. Even
within ourselves, we are learning every day, discovering new things we
can actually and cannot do. One might be knowledgeable about a
certain subject, for instance, chemistry. There will always a time that
will come that an experience will lead into a new knowledge, will put
someone into a situation that will make them question or even doubt
their knowledge.
A wise man does not know he is wise thus, a conclusion can be
arrived that one who knows he does not know everything, and that
learning does not stop in a certain time of life, is wise.
We often mistakingly take intelligence as knowledge. But,
apparently, these two is quite different from each other. Being wise is
the one thing that is realized to humble those who take wisdom as
plain as knowledge.
The world is full of brilliant people who are intellectual without
really understanding the essence of things. In contrast, wise people try
to grasp the deeper meaning of what is known and strive to better
understand the limits of their knowledge.
Wisdom is not about knowing an answer to an algebraic equation,
knows the correct format of sentence with the correct application of
grammar, knowledge can be applied in a way deeper situations. It may
require logical and rational thinking. Some may overthink their actions
and constantly go back to the past decisions they made to understand
and discover in what aspect does this decision affected them, either
positively or negatively, to have themselves be able to be conscious and
perform a well-thought decision the next time they encounter the same
situation.
Wisdom has no limit at all. We may learn all the knowledgeable
things form the books; life is always too short to apply one’s wisdom.
Think, that is what wisdom looks like. Wise people tend to look at the
picture in whole viewpoint, could be willing to desert his own principles
to fully understand a certain thing, situation or issue. Knows how to
manage their emotions well, knows when to talks, knows when to act.
As they say, age does not make one wiser. Life always have
something to teach us, something that will challenge both intellectual
and emotion of a person, something that teaches one how to be wise.
Learning is constant as it is in direct proportion to the constant run of
changes in this world.
Setbacks are unforgettable learning experiences that help you
better comprehend life's uncertainties. Surviving adversity adds to a
greater appreciation for life and the awareness of fresh opportunities.
These encounters allow us to rise beyond our own biases and view
things for what they are.
As time passes by, practicing experiences, application of wisdom,
it does stop anytime. We may know everything, we may know how to
answer all question in relation to what we are taught, learning is not
going to stop.
Education is an admirable thing, but it is as well to remember
from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught. -
Oscar Wilde. Becoming wise is a very personal journey. It is only
through our own experiences, learning how to cope with the major
tragedies and dilemmas embedded within life’s journey, that we will
discover our own capacities and learn how to create wisdom.
