I. Read the next text about a postman and a postman’s breakfast and highlight or
underline the compound words from this story.

“A postman’s breakfast”

“The postman was getting ready for breakfast. He was


expecting a houseguest any minute. Just as he began
heating up the fry pan for pancakes, the doorbell rang.
He took the fry pan off the stove and went to answer the
door. As he opened the door, the sunshine spilled in
through the doorway and reflected brightly on the brass
bathroom doorknob.”
“Welcome!”, he said to the bricklayer, Mike.
“I’m glad you could come by for breakfast.” The postman opened the door wide.
“Come in and have a seat,” he said. The postman went to his cupboard and pulled
out a tablecloth. He spread the tablecloth on the table and set out his teapot
beside a large vase of sunflowers. The postman and the bricklayer sat down and
had a delicious breakfast together. Afterwards they met up with Frank, the fireman
and headed to their workplaces.”
