Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Entrepreneurship for Grade-11

I – Objectives:
At the end of the session the students are expected to
a. Identify what are the market needs based from the problems of the
community.
b. Correlate the market needs to the problems identified
by the community.
c. Recognize one’s role as part of the solution to the problem

II – Learning Content:
Topic: Market Needs and Propose Products
LC Code: CS EP11/12ENTREP-0a-3
Materials: Manila paper, Chalkboard, pentel pen

III – Learning Task:


A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Review of the previous lesson:
How does malnutrition affect the students’ attendance in school?
5. Motivation:
-Playing the song entitled “Walang Sino Man Ang Nabubuhay” (lyrics of
the song are projected on the screen)
-What have you learned about the lyrics of the song?
-Hypothetically, do you think a community can’t live harmoniously if they
don’t help each other? Why?

B. Development of the Lesson


1. Activity:
Problem Tree Analysis (Grouping). In a manila paper, draw a tree. A tree
must have roots, leaves, and fruits. You are given 5-minute to finish the
drawing.

a. Analyze the market problem of our school which you identified last
meeting. In an individual meta card, you put the following:
-Problem
-Cause
b. Post the meta cards in your drawing. Put the “Problem” on the fruits,
while the “Cause on the roots.

c. What was you identified problem again? Write it in another meta card,
then post it beside the problem.
d. Identify the cause or causes of this problem. Write your answer
individually on the meat card, then post them on the roots?
2. Analysis:
a. Do you see the significance of our activity? Why?
b. Was it difficult or easy? Why?
c. Do you believe that every problem might have different causes?
Why?

3. Abstraction:
1. What relationship can we attribute in doing the activity?
2. How does the activity help you identify the cause and effect of the
problem?
3. What are market needs?

4. Application:
-Revisit your Problem Tree Output. Think from among your causes,
what are the possible market needs. These market needs are actually
business opportunities which can propose a business. Do it with your
group in 5 minutes to come up with your market needs and your
proposal. Just make 1 business proposal. Choose the best business
opportunity.
-Write your answer in the metacard and post them beside your tree”

Appreciate the value in identifying market needs

VI – Evaluation:
Problem Tree Analysis such as:
-Prevalence of diseases due to wrong disposal of wastes
-Poor families because of unemployment or underemployment
-Presence of water-borne diseases

The learners will identify the cause of these problems and the market need.
Then propose a solution.
