1. My family is the best family. My family is the best friend I ever had.

I am very
grateful to have a family like them. My family consists of 4 people. This is my
little family. There is my father, mother, younger brother, and me. My father's
name is Dedi Suryadi. He is 50 years old and his job is self-employed. He is very
kind, hardworking and patient. My father weighs about 55 kg.
My mom is the best. My mother's name is Lena Marlina. My mother is 47 years
old. She is a patient woman, friendly and a little talkative. My mother's job is a
housewife. My mother is the best cook. The cooking is always delicious.
Then, I have a younger brother. His name is Surya Pratama. He is 13 years old.
She is about 5 years younger than me. He's very naughty and stubborn, but I like
him. He is the best listener. If I have a problem I always tell him, and he solves
my problem. He is the only boy who can change my bad mood. They are my best
family. I really love my family.

2. Daily Activities As Students During the Corona Virus Pandemic

I live with my family in our house. I usually wake up earlier than my sister. I
wake up at 4 or 5 in the morning. I never forget to make the bed and clean it.
After that I washed. Then I took a shower and worshiped.

I usually help my mother clean the trash near the house in the morning.
Sometimes my younger brother helps me too. We usually divide up the
homework.

After that I helped my mother prepare breakfast. And then, I have breakfast with
my family in the dining room. We usually have hot tea and fried rice.

Before the corona virus entered Indonesia, there should be morning classes and
the routine in the morning should normally go to campus at 8 am and study in
class, waiting for the next class on campus. And at break time looking for food to
eat in the campus canteen, but that's all just my expectation. In reality, from the
first time being a new student until now the lectures are ineffective and carried
out online. Corona virus has entered Indonesia. made everything to be done
online including my lectures. Because of this, I was able to spend a lot of time
with my family at home from morning to evening.

At 1 pm, I helped my mother prepare lunch, then lunch with my family. After that
I prayed, watched TV and took a nap. I always shower at 5 in the afternoon. in the
afternoon. Then I watched TV while waiting for prayer time. After I worshiped,
my family and I had dinner together at 6pm. And then finish my college
assignment.

Finally I usually sleep from 11 to 12 at night. when all tasks are done. I never
forget to brush my teeth before going to bed. That's all my activities from waking
up to finishing. Thank you.

3. Experience of being a santri

The experience of being a santri has its own stories and impressions that will
never be forgotten. Hustle and bustle The journey of life as a student gives a
different color. Because there are many kinds of experiences, stories that I would
never get when I was educated outside the pesantren.

Since attending kindergarten, elementary, and junior high school education, I

never thought that my high school should go to boarding school, because for me
boarding is like a prison that restricts freedom so that the santri call the lodge a
sacred prison.

I don't know why my parents obliged me to go to boarding school, even though I

didn't have the slightest desire to do it. Maybe my parents had their own reasons
why I was enrolled in a pesantren.

became a student at the Nurul Amanah Islamic boarding school in the modern
Salawu Tasikmalaya boarding school for only 3 years. For the people of the 3-
year pesantren it is only limited to "ngampong kemmeh". This language is
popular among the pesantren which means only "hitching a pee". Imagine that 3
years of living is likened to just having to pee if it is compared to food only
tasting. Even though it was limited to tasting, I got many very valuable lessons
while living in the holy prison.

The first day to two to a month of living in a pesantren, I felt like I was
imprisoned because the freedom I had felt outside I did not get in the pesantren
life. I pondered in my own room and muttered, like this is the life of a pesantren.
"Oh Allah, I am not at home, I want to go home".

As time went by, almost a year living in the holy prison I started to feel at home
and enjoy life in the pesantren because I always heard the message from my
parents, "You have to go to bed, I don't know how many years you are lodged, the
point is you have to stay because I want you to be better and have a handle when
living outside the pesanten ". This message is what makes me excited to enjoy the
pesantren life.

Whatever experiences and impressions I have at the pesantren, provide

meaningful lessons. I can only feel the joys and sorrows of being a religious
person and wearing a syar'i veil in the pesantren environment. Living in a
pesantren teaches me how to be an independent person, away from family,
relatives, friends who always accompany me.

Talking about togetherness, in the pesantren, the togetherness between one santri
and another is very strong as if it has become a family that is always together. I
remember, when the parents of the santri came to visit their children, the
guardians of the santri must have brought rice for their children and other santri
who lived in the same room. It is from the rice packages that the togetherness of
the students can be seen, before eating the rice packages are combined into one so
that they can eat together, busy fighting over rice has become a common thing
which makes a togetherness even tighter.

Sleeping together, fighting over beds, fighting over blankets to decorate the
togetherness of the students while going to sleep. When it was winter, some of the
students hugged each other tightly to look for warmth "there was no intention of
anything". The point is all for the sake of warmth and togetherness.

I am proud to be a santri. Because by becoming a santri I knew a little about

religion. I am proud to be a santri because by becoming a santri I can feel the
pleasure of being together that I cannot get outside the holy prison. I am proud to
be a santri because when I was a santri I was taught to be a simple person who is
not easily complacent. I am proud to be a santri because when I was a santri I was
educated to become an Islamic person. I am proud to be a santri because from the
santri I am ready to work with the community. I am proud to be a santri because
from the students I know that the knowledge of the world and the hereafter must
be balanced so that there is no mistake in taking steps.

Thank you, Mother, father for forcing me to gain knowledge in the holy prison,
now I realize that boarding is important even though it is self-restraining.

Come on Mondok, Santri is cool, you can carve a sweet story in a holy prison
