1 Warnings and legal information

This manual gives guidelines to the use and installation of the DEIF multi-line 2 units. It is, however, not a complete installation
instruction. Therefore, even if terminal numbers may be shown in the drawings, the drawings are to be used as guidance only.

Installing and operating the multi-line 2 units implies work with dangerous currents and voltages, and therefore only
qualified personnel should do it.

During the installation care must be taken to protect the terminals against static discharges. Once the units are installed and
connected, these precautions are no longer necessary.

DEIF takes no responsibility for operation or installation of the generator set. If there is any doubt about how to install or
operate the system on which the multi-line 2 unit is measuring, the company responsible for the installation or the operation
must be contacted.

2 Purpose of the document

The purpose of this document is to describe how the multi-line 2 with the web server option is connected to a personal computer to be
able to set up the necessary IP address. After having changed the IP address, the multi-line 2 is ready to be connected to e.g. a local
intranet, a hub or a router.

3 System demands

3.1 Software demands

The following software requirements are necessary:

1. Windows 95/98 or Windows 2000

3.2 Hardware demands

The following hardware requirements are necessary:

1. Ethernet cable (twisted pair) crossed

2. Network card installed

4 Generally
The web server to the multi-line 2 has to be configured with an IP address, fitting the network to which it is to be connected. Factory IP
address is 10.0.0.4.

To change the IP address, a PC with a network card installed is needed. To make the PC communicate with the multi-line 2, the
network settings of the PC have to be changed and disconnected from the network. Instead the PC and the multi-line 2 must be
connected with the crossed Ethernet cable.

The IP address of the PC must be changed to fit the IP address of the multi-line 2.
