METHODOLOGY/PROCEDURES
Preparation Introductory Preliminaries:
Activity 1. Prayer
(5 minutes) 2. Greetings
3. Check attendance of the students.
4. Check the surroundings.
5. COVID Protocols and classroom rules.
(Obj. 4 Establish safe and secure learning environments to enhance learning through
the consistent implementation of policies, guidelines and procedures.)
6. Let the students prepare their module, paper and pens.

Teaching Strategy: WORD PUZZLE

Learning Activity: “FILL ME IN!”
(Obj. 1: Applied content knowledge within and across curriculum teaching areas (English))

DOWN
1. It is the angle from the horizontal to the line of sight of the observer to
the object below.
2. Something viewed from a distance.
5. A person who pays close attention to something.

ACROSS
3. It is the angle from the horizontal to the line of sight of the observer to
the object above.
4. It is an imaginary line that connects the object being observed.
Presentation Activity Teaching Strategy: SITUATION-BASED LEARNING
(5 minutes) Learning Activity: “DRAW OUT”
Give pictures of depression and elevation
-depress and not depress
- 3 pictures

1. Ryan is flying a kite that makes an angle of elevation of 30° with the
ground. Determine how high the kite is above the ground when she has
let out 100 m of string.
Directions: Illustrate the situation in the given problem then solve. Write
your answer on a separate sheet.(5 PROBLEMS ILLUSTRATION)

Any question? Give me a HEART , if you understood the

lesson and give me a sad face ☹ if there is something that still bothers
you.
(Obj 3. Use effective verbal and non-verbal classroom communication strategies to support learner
understanding, participation, engagement and achievement)

Teaching Strategy: INQUIRY-BASED LEARNING

Learning Activity: QUESTION AND ANSWER
1. How was the activity?
Analysis
2. What are the two kinds of angle form from the eye of the
(5 minutes)
observer?
3. Where should be the object located to form these kinds of
angles?
Abstraction Teaching Strategy: Lecture Discussion
(20 minutes) What is angle of elevation?
 The angle of elevation is the angle between a horizontal line from the
observer and the line of sight to an object that is above the horizontal
line.
What is angle of depression?
 The angle of depression is the angle between a horizontal line from the
observer and the line of sight to an object that is below the horizontal
line
 The angle of elevation is ∠CBA and the line of sight is BA .
 The angle of depression is ∠DAB and the line of sight is AB.
To put it in a simpler way, every time you look up at something in the sky,
you are creating something called the Angle of Elevation with your eyes.
Moreover, when you look down at something on the ground, you are
creating an angle called Angle of Depression.
Any question? Give me a HEART , if you understood the
lesson and give me a sad face ☹ if there is something that still bothers
you.
(Obj 3. Use effective verbal and non-verbal classroom communication strategies to support learner
understanding, participation, engagement and achievement)
(Objective 5: Maintain learning environments that promote fairness, respect and care to
encourage learning)
(Objective 2: Display proficient use of Mother Tongue, Filipino and English to facilitate teaching
and learning)
Practice Application Teaching Strategy: PRACTICE EXERCISE
(12 minutes) Learning Activity: “CONNECTING LINES”
Directions: Draw the line of sight to the marked object then identify if the angle
formed is an angle of elevation or an angle of depression.
Assessment Teaching Strategy: FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT
(5 minutes) Learning Activity: PICK AND SEGRAGATE
Directions: Write the marked angle in the elevation column if the angle
formed is an angle of elevation and in the depression column if it is an
angle of depression.

1. What do you call the angle from the horizontal to the line of sight of the
observer to the object above?
a. Angle of Elevation b. Angle of Depression
c. Line of Sight d. Vertical Line of Sight

2. What do you call the imaginary line that connects the object being
observed?
a. Angle of Elevation b. Angle of Depression
c. Line of Sight d. Vertical Line of Sight

3. What do you call the angle from the horizontal to the line of sight of the
observer to the object below?
a. Angle of Elevation b. Angle of Depression
c. Line of Sight d. Vertical Line of Sight

4. Given the figure below, which of the given angles refer to angle of
depression?

a. ∠ LOE b. ∠ VEO
c. ∠ LEV d. ∠VOL
5. Determine the line of sight of the observer in the given picture on the
right.

Teaching Strategy: Spaced Repetition

Learning Activity: “BAHAY KUBO”
Directions: Read and analyze the correct problem related to the
illustration below.
(Obj. 1: Applied content knowledge within and across curriculum teaching areas (English))

Assignment
(3 minutes)

A. A bahay kubo is 9 meters away from a tree. If the angle of

elevation is 55 from the bahay kubo to the top of the tree, how
high is the tree?
B. A bahay kubo is 55 degrees away from a tree. If the angle of
elevation is 9 meters from the bahay kubo to the top of the tree,
how high is the tree?
C. A tree is 9 meters away from the bahay kubo. If the angle of
depression is 55 from the bahay kubo to the top of the tree, how
high is the tree?”
