TOPIC 1

Move to a new city: City or countryside

S: Yesterday I found some posts where it was seen how life in the countryside is calmer
than in the city and I'm thinking of going to live outside the city. But I'm still not sure,
because I haven't done enough research and I wanted to ask them the following question:
What do you think about life in the countryside?

K: I think that life in the countryside is calmer because it is away from the noise of the city,
its environment is much more natural and without excessive pollution. On the other hand,
what do you think of the city? Allison, do you think it is more stressful to live in the city
than in the countryside?

A: For me, living in the city is stressful, there is a lot of noise, too much traffic because a
limited public transport services, in the city people live faster and for that reason many
people even suffer from ánxiety, the truth is that I prefer to live in the country a detached
house with a beautiful chimney, the neighbors are very united, and they help each other.
And you Madeleine? Would you be willing to live in the country?

M: Well, life in the city can get so dramatic that your stress level can increase rapidly.
However, I have become accustomed to the chaos of the city, whether due to traffic
congestion or poor public transport, but the urban development that it has had has
allowed me to have unique opportunities.

S: Kleber What do you think are the negative aspects of living in the countryside? I would
like to hear your opinion

K: The negative aspect that I can highlight in the countryside is if an emergency arises,
where it can be lethal for the victim due to the distance from the city and that the field
does not have sufficient technology to be able to treat.

A: I can say that now I have realized that both living in the countryside and in the city is
very interesting, both places offer very positive things.

M: Right Allison, we have to take the best of both worlds. Obviusly, when the stress of the
city is too much, I will escape to the countryside to appreciate its breathtaking views.
TOPIC 2

Experience about a film

S: Hey guys! Yesterday I found a horror movie that I been had saw when I am 11 years ago, and
this be based in real story. I remember that couldn't sleep alone in my room by 3 weeks after
to see the movie. ¿What is the movie most remember of infancy them?

K: That must have been a bit traumatizing. Well, the film that I remember the most has to do
with superheroes, I liked to imitate them when I was child, the production of the movie caught
my attention, my fascination was so great that I had a birthday with that theme. What is it that
most attracts your attention in a film?

A: What strikes me most about a movie is the message it conveys; movies often have the
almost magical power of making us live transformative experiences. Of course, these are
personal and non-transferable experiences and ultimately depend on our concerns, fears,
aspirations, and desires. Madeleyne and for you? What is the most inspiring movie you have
seen throughout your life?

M: M: For me the most inspiring movie was "Until the last soldier", just like you, the message
that a movie transmits is the most important thing, for me this movie was memorable, I felt
that the cast of the movie together with the director they managed to capture the essence of
this true story and convey it on screen.

S: After all, cinema is considered the seventh art, it knows how to provoke feelings and
emotions from animated films to stories based on real people that made history.

K: I think that movies make us live great experiences, feel emotions because of their plots and
the good production they have.

A: Totally agree, movies make us have good experiences and some give us excellent messages
and advice.
TOPIC 3

Tourist destinations

S: Hey guys! Yesterday I saw a fascinating place called Petra in Jordan in a documentary, and I
thought to ask you, what tourist place would you like to visit? or What are your ideal tourist
destinations?

K: An ideal tourist destination for me, it would be a place where you can enjoy with friends,
family or as a couple, and great scenery and constructions are displayed that can be captured
in photographs, such as the Torre Eiffel located in Paris, France is a tourist place that most of
us want to know and for your which tourist destination would be the ideal?

A: My ideal tourist destination would be to visit OYMI-AKON, it is the coldest city in the world. I
have watched several documentaries of that city and it is beautiful despite being so cold, the
people are very friendly and there is no crime at all, the people who live there say so. In
addition, there are months when the sun does not rise and I would love to have the experience
of getting to know that city? And for you, what tourist place would you like to visit and why?

M: Well, contrary to you, I don't like the cold at all, so if I would visit an exotic beach, waterfall
or river where there are astonishing views, but not very well known. Since I don't like crowded
places, unregulated tourism has also caused the deterioration of the most beautiful beaches,
which is too unfortunate.

S: I think that it is always important to have ideal tourist places because it motivates us to see
the world from another perspective and that is always good to be able to form a more critical
thinking, to be open to new ideas and changes.

K: You are right, knowing other places is beneficial for anyone, it helps to clear the mind, relax
and escape from everyday life for a moment.

A: Knowing new places helps to do activities that we would not have done in another place.
TOPIC 4

Urban development and the quality of life of cities in Ecuador

K: Hi guys, lately I have read about the quality of life that has been increasing in Ecuador and
especially in cities such as Guayaquil and Quito that stand out, due to their advances in
infrastructure, the majority of people reside in these places, for better economic stability,
although still we are very far from being a country with high standards of living, we have
improved over time. Do you think we will have big changes in urban development, or will we
remain stagnant over time?

A: I believe that if we can have very positive changes over time, if urban development is
properly managed, this will contribute to sustainable growth, increasing productivity and
facilitating innovation and the emergence of new ideas. Building cities that work, that are
inclusive, healthy, resilient and sustainable requires intensive policy coordination and
investment opportunities. And how fast do you think Guayaquil is growing?

S: I think that it is something inevitable, the progress of Guayaquil is accelerated due to the
investment of the municipality in public companies such as EPICO EP where I do my pre-
professional practices and I have read everything they have been doing for the city from
technological research to ecological projects. madeleine have you heard anything about this?

M: M: Honestly, I haven't heard much about ecological projects, but I hope it's a lack of
information from me and that support for these projects will increase because it's not
sustainable for urban development to exist or increase quality of life at the expense of nature's
deterioration. , just as it has happened years ago when the YASUNÍ suffered such a strong
deterioration that its preservation was a hard task.

K: It is very true, I think that the country should improve urbanization over time, better
construction, technology and that it can be a more developed country for its own benefit.

A: National and local governments have an important role to play they must act now, shape
the future development of cities and create opportunities for all people.

S: I think we are young, and we have to enjoy how the wor ld we know is walking towards
the future

M: Yes, I just hope that the effort that this new generation is making is enough to leave good
marks.
