The Patagonia Trashumante

Patagonia Trashumante is the side “B” about fly fishing in North Patagonia. Located in the deep Northern
Patagonia countryside, this is a completely different set of rivers, which brings along differences in fishing
pressure, landscaping and climate (all new and better). To have an idea of the large of the operation we
operate a region of the size of Slovenia aproximately with 14 main rivers, +7 lakes and about +30
creeks/streams and spring creeks

Features:

1) Very low fishing pressure (more than 500 kilometers of public rivers with very little surrounding
population and plenty of space for visiting fishermen)

2) Fun: many fish allow us to explore our own limits and skills as we like to fish (nymph, streamers or drie,
float or sink), nymph or traditional fly cast. Lots of sigth fishing (visual fishing) and trout hunting in dreamy
places

3) Unique landscapes: glacial valleys, mountain rivers, spring creeks or freestones. All unique places in
their own right that deserve to be portrayed by professional crews

4) Adventure: they are all unique and new places for anglers. We also have many savage places where
you can make camps with great safety

The 3 subregions within the north of the Neuquen where according to the tastes and requirements will be
developed the fishing programs (Each trip is unique and unrepeatable, it is a matter of varying a lot the
environment looking for the best rivers at that time and the specific skills that the guided enjoys most)

1) ALTO NEUQUEN Area (for fishing mainly the river Neuquén middle and upper, Curamileo, Pichi
Neuquen, Rio Varvarco, Lagunas de Varvarco. Lodge Host Varvarco

2) NAHUEVE Area (Fishing in Nahueve River, Buraleo, Lileo Vaca Lauquen, La Nasa, Epu Lauquen).
Lodge Host The Sheep

3) PICHACHEN Area (fishing on the Trocoman River, Nireco and Reñileuvu) / Lodge in Chochoy Mallin /
riverside camp or Hosteria El cholar

It also highlights the possibility of fishing for tributary streams, creeks and spring-creeks from all these
main rivers

It is a purely rugged and also rural area where the Transhumance takes place, which consists of the

transfer of animals from the winter fields to the summers in the high mountain peaks. We surely be able to

enjoy the transit of country people by moving their cattle and goats and cattle from one field of pastures to

another. If this is the case, you can interact with some families of transhumance cattle gauchos, our local

“cowboys”

(NEW ) FISHING ADVENTURE PROGRAMS: Differences:

∙       NOT included Neuquen-CHOS MALAL transfer! (Patagonia Trashumante Operations Base)

You'll come with the delegation or they'll have to arrive alone from Neuquén (Bus line suggested,

only about $18 dollars each, they are very nice and good frecuency, 3 ⁹buses a day). That's how it

gets a lot cheaper! You can also rent a car in the airport and drive here (it is a 5 hours drive)

∙         Guide/anglers ratio (1/3), Accommodations in Camp, cabins and tourist hotels, may be 2 nigths in

a fishing lodge in the long trip if they keep me charging cheap (don't promisse it)

∙         Dry Breakfast in cabins and camp.

∙         There are more hours of fishing and less glamour, great for anglers with a smaller budget

∙         It's practically a night out of camping and one night hotel a day with a lot of movement.

Conditions:

●LOW SEASON (April 15th to May 31st 2023). Season starts Nov 1, ends May 31st.
●Your expenses (Baptiste and Julien or designated host) during the fishing trip in our area are fully
supported by Trashumante FF (Lodging, food, beverages, fishing, transportation). We can guive a
host free of charge every 3 anglers you bring to us, ok? If you get 3 anglers for a trip with one of you
guys would be enough to join us, adding a truck for just 1 additional angler would not be rentable for
us, anyway we can discuss case by case for different trips but we need a minimun amount of
anglers to guive the great deals in the adventure programs.

Not included in any program:

● International and local flights

● Lodgings and meals outside the Patagonia Trashumante
● Gratitudes
● Main gear (waders, boots, rods, reels, etc)
