“The Appropriate Accent for English”

An accent is a great tool to help most people understand each other better. Every
language has different accents used in communication. Moreover, English is the language of
the world. Many people use standard American or British English accents to speak, and they
use it as an appropriate accent. Additionally, if we talk about the appropriate English accent,
it has more than two accents that people can use in daily life. In my point of view, I totally
disagree that it has only two accents that can be used as the appropriate model due to the fact
that English is a global language, it has the social factor, and it is also a communicative
language.
The first reason why I strongly disagree that it has only two accents that can be used as
appropriate because English is a global language. A global language is a language that people
using in many countries whether the western or the southern counties, so there makes accents
of language changed. To illustrate, nowadays, there are many accents of English for us to
speak. It means that it does not have a specific English accent to use. Moreover, most of the
many accents of English come from all around the world such as Singlish accent, New
Zealand English accent, or Irish English accent. People can use these various English accents
to communicate with others. Importantly, it does not necessary to use standard American or
British English to communicate because English is a global language of the world.
The second reason why I strongly disagree that it has only two accents that can be used
as appropriate because English has the social factor to make accents differently. The social
factor can influence the accents to be various accents. It is that the accents can be different
because almost all people use English as a second language, and it will let the accent changed
by their mother tongue or their native language. As you know, there is no standard accent to
speak because English is used in many countries. In the point of this factor, it will make
different accents by their mother tongue. Moreover, each country also has its accent to speak
from where people living, so it is impossible that there are only two accents that we use
because of its social factor that I already mentioned. I believe that there have more than two
accents that we can use nowadays.
The third reason why I strongly disagree that it has only two accents that can be used
as appropriate because the main purpose of language is for communication. Communication
is very important to make people can understand each other. In addition, the accent is also a
tool to help people perceive others better. As you know, language is for communication;
people have to communicate to get comprehension. Moreover, English is a communicative
language, so we just use English to get comprehension not use to focus on the accent. When
we speak, we do not necessarily think about the accent to speak, so many accents can be used
appropriately.
To put it all together, English does not have only two accents used in communication.
It is that because there is a global language that people all around the world used to speak.
There are many accents to speak so that it causes the accent to differ from others. In addition,
a social factor also is a part that causes the accent variously to use. People use a language to
communicate with others, so it makes accents change a lot. All that I mentioned above are the
reasons that why I disagree that there are only two accents that we can use. We should focus
on the meaning not to focus on the accent.
