Maths:
1. If the terms of an AP are in GP then find the
common ratio of the GP.
Solution:- Step-by-step explanation:
7th Term of an AP = a + 6d
10th term of AP = a + 9d
15th term of AP = a + 14d
7th, 10th and 15th terms of an ap are in GP
=> (a + 6d)(a + 14d) = (a + 9d)²
=> a² + 14ad + 16ad+ 84d² = a² + 81d² + 18ad
=> 20ad + 84d² = 81d² + 18ad
=> 2ad = 3d²
=> a = 3d/2
7th term = 3d/2 + 6d = 15d/2
10th term = 21d/2
14th Term = 31d/2
Common Ratio = 15d/2÷21d/2 = 15/21
common ratio of gp is 15/21
Chemistry:
1. In an adiabatic expansion of 1 mol of a monoatomic ideal
gas from an initial temperature of 25°C. The work done on
surrounding is 1400 J then change in internal energy ∆U in
the given process is :
Solution:- △U is related to Cv, which can be calculated from
CP= 35.66 JK-1 mol-1 listed in Appendix B.
It is assumed that Cv and Cp are independent of temperature.
Cv = Cp-nR = (1.00 mol) (35.66 JK-1 mol-1)-(1.00 mol) (8.314
JK-1 mol-1 ) = 27.35 JK-1
The change in internal energy is
△U= Cv △T = (27.35 JK-1 ) (286 K-298 K)= -3.3 x 10² J.
∆H° = –6542 kJ
What is the ∆E° for the combustion of 1.5 mol of benzene.
Solution:- △n= -3
△H∘ = △E∘ +(△ng)RT
⇒ -6542= △E∘ + (-3)(8.31)(298)×10-3
⇒ △E∘ = -6534KJ.
Physics:
1. An EMF of 15V is applied in a circuit containing 5H
inductance and 10Ω resistance. What is the ratio of the
currents at time t=∞ and t=1 s?
Solution: -
At t = ∞,
Resistance offered by inductor is zero, So I = 15/10 = 1.5
at t = 1,
current I2 = I1(1 - e - Rt/L)
l2= I1((e2/ (e2 - 1)
I2/I1= (e2/ (e2 - 1).
