Group Output: Based on the groupings here, you will have to do a group movie analysis of the
movie “Forest Gump”. An encoded or handwritten output will be submitted as “Group
Activity 3 of Unit 3: Forest Gump”. The movie analysis will be done by answering the
following questions:

1. Based on the movie, what is moral courage?

One of the soldier advised Forrest Gump that, “Never, ever take your eye off the ball.”
When a problem arises, you must have the courage to face it head-on, make the necessary
adjustments to cope with it, and create new plans—all the while ensuring that the
problem never has the upper hand. Go beyond your comfort zone and explore new
opportunities, conceive up fresh, creative ideas at work. You can never predict what will
occur. The outcome will either be good or bad.

2. How did the main actor (Forrest Gump) portrayed the principle of moral
courage?

Forrest Gump was also diagnosed with autism, but he was not averse to trying new
things. Forrest is another example of a person with mental retardation who overcame
challenges and made an effect on the world despite the fact that doing so was
uncomfortable for him and resulted in multiple setbacks. Despite having a condition
called poliomyelitis that made completing nearly any task impossible, he enlisted and
served his nation. He showed positivism and courage, and it was quite brave of him to try
to improve himself in spite of his circumstances. Lieutenant Dan may have wished to die
on the field of battle, but Forrest wasn't about to allow that. In this moment, Forrest
shown moral courage by showing that he would risk everything to stop lieutenant Dan
from dying. This is how the adage "Sometimes, you just have to do the right thing, even
when everyone tells you not to" truly comes to life.

3. In your opinion, how did Forrest Gump developed moral courage?

Watching movies is a fantastic way to kill time, escape from reality, and engage in a
particular type of engagement. Movies are a terrific way for us to learn the things the
creators want us to know, even if the plot has an underlying moral or even some broad
life lessons.
There are many instances in the movie that highlight moral courage; one of them is when
his friend told him to "run, Forrest, run!" to escape the bullies. As a result, he was able to
get rid of the braces and go on to have a successful college sporting career. We must be
brave to try new things in everyday life and business. Experiment with new things that
take you out of your comfort zone. Create innovative and inventive ideas at work. You
never know what will happen. It could be bad, but it could also be great. Other is when he
was recovering in the Army Hospital, when one of the wounded soldiers told to Forrest
the “never ever take your eyes off the ball”. It may have been intended to refer to ping
pong, but it's a terrific life and business lesson. Keeping your gaze fixed on the ball helps
you stay focused on your goal. When a problem arises, you must be bold enough to keep
your eye on the ball while dealing with it, adapting as needed to cope with it and creating
new plans, but never allowing the problem to overwhelm you.

4. Observers and experts said that Forrest Gump’s have an IQ of 75 (below

average) and has a diagnosis according to DSM-IV autistic disorder criteria,
ruling out possible alternative diagnoses such as Rett’s disorder or childhood
disintegrative disorder according to observational evidence (Applied Behavior
Analysis Education, 2016). In your opinion, if Forrest Gump was not as he is
(low IQ and with intellectual disability), do you think he would have developed
such moral courage as depicted in the movie? Explain your answer.

It's either yes or no, in our perspective. We don't know what will occur right now or in
the future because life is full of twists and turns.
the upcoming, If Forrest Gump weren't the way he is, he might still grow in moral
courage or he might not. portrayed in the film. We can observe that Forrest Gump gained
moral bravery from what is occurring in his through his surroundings or surroundings. He
won't learn well if his mother or those around him don't teach him. choose a different
route to avoid developing moral bravery. Her experiences were horrible, much like
Jenny's, because of her upbringing or experiences with a violent father. Perhaps Jenny
would be truly happy and have a lovely family if she hadn't gone through that event.
