Message from the CEO

I am pleased to welcome you to our bi-annual newsletter, which is part of our strategy of
improving communication internally and with external partners and stakeholders. The story
of NPCC is one of pride and began 43 years ago. While times have changed but we still aspire
to continue to be the region’s best Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company
with world-class expertise, in Oil & Gas Sector.

Our 43 year track record of excellence is spurred by the vision of our leadership. We recognised
early that engineering and technical skills would be essential to the future of the company,
and took steps to ensure we acquire these skills. This year we have added another engineering
centre in France through equity acquisition of Principia Engineering. Now we have 4 engineering
centres in Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and La Ciota; and ANEWA, NEL and PRINCIPIA as
companies in our Engineering portfolio.

As our clients’ needs are growing, we are spending considerable resources, investing in internal
capabilities and assets to match those needs. We have enhanced our Offshore EPC capabilities
by adding SEP 650 & SEP 750 Jack Up Barges and B42 Cargo Barges to our fleet. We have
also added another fabrication yard in ICAD 4, and this year we have fabricated over 30,000
MT topside. We will continue meeting market challenges through acquiring best in class
capabilities and be the partner of choice.

At the same time, we are cognizant of our corporate social responsibilities. This realisation
has resulted in a drive towards Emiratisation. We work to recruit the fresh graduates and
experienced professionals, and have development programs like CDP, MDP and LPD to advance
thier careers. We also believe in empowering women and including them in technical and
administrative roles, following UAE’s lead in gender equality.

Current market environment is challenging for all of us, and in times like these we have to
work together and focus on delivering productivity and efficiency. These times are challenging,
not only for NPCC but the whole industry, but I am sure that NPCC sprit will prevail and we will
emerge stronger.

Hydrographic Survey and Diving Capabilities

Make NPCC at Home in the Water
Coastal projects and offshore oil and
gas projects need a vast number
of professional support services to
continue performing. Most of these
support services are carried out in water
environments. This is why NPCC has
spent years investing in state of the art
expertise, technology and equipment to
offer technical support in challenging
environments.
There are two key elements to
understanding, and operating in, a sea
environment. The first is examining
and mapping the sea so that offshore
installations and projects can proceed
smoothly. The second is nurturing the
capabilities to service offshore projects
and maintain equipment effectively even
when it is underwater.

NPCC’s hydrographic surveys are an

essential step in kick-starting coastal or
offshore projects. They provide invaluable
data during the planning stage, and also
monitor the effects of human activity
during and post project implementation.
Hydrographic survey is an indispensable
part of any coastal and offshore
construction project. There are different
types for constriction related projects

construction survey.
Our hydrographic surveys rely on state
of the art tools to measure and describe
features of the ocean and coastline. We
have the ability to gather data on a host of
variables including ocean surroundings,
tides, currents and obstructions. The raw
material generated by sensors can be
converted into usable maps through the
technique of maritime cartography.

But surveying is only the first step. NPCC’s support
for offshore projects doesn’t stop at hydrographic
surveys. Large offshore projects require constant
maintenance, evaluation and physical inspection.
Many of these procedures need to be carried out
underwater, adding a layer of complexity to the
mix. Diving, and the ability to operate underwater,
is essential to personalised inspection and repair
operations. Our underwater installation and
maintenance capabilities increase the lifespan
of offshore oil and gas assets, and ensure peak
operation.
NPCC has created a robust NPCC Diving Services
Department, which relies on world-class expertise
to assist in offshore construction, installation
and maintenance. Our diving services mobilises
personnel and equipment on a fleet of barges
and other suitable vessels. Robust mechanisms
of assuring air supply underwater mean that our

teams can carry out dive procedures
to check core components on offshore
oil and gas platforms. We regularly
perform stinger checks, anchor surveys,
seabed surveys, hull inspections, pipeline
surveys and repairs, riser installations
and inspections, pipeline end manifold
(PLEM) installations and a host of other
services for our clients. We also install
anodes, tie-in spools, mattresses and
grout bags, sleepers, and jackets as
needed.

technology (Remotely Operated Vehicles)
which can be operated in areas where
