INDUCTION OF A NEW MEMBER OF AN EXISTING UNIT

I. PETITION
Master of Ceremonies:

“Your Reverence, we are here to induct a new member of our unit. Allow us therefore to
present our sister, Virginia Licyayo, a new member of the Catholic Women’s League, St.
Joseph’s Unit, Kiangan Mission, a part of the Catholic Women’s League, Philippines, Inc.,
member of the Council of the LAITYHJjkoi(?)”

Rev. Father: (Addressing the new member)

“What do you desire?”

New member:

“I desire to be admitted and proclaimed as a new member of the Catholic Women’s League, St.
Joseph’s Unit, Kiangan Mission”

Rev. Father:

“Do you promise to live a truly Catholic Life, to uphold the faith and promote fidelity to the
statutes of the Catholic Women’s League, under the direction of the Hierarchy?”

New Member:

“Yes, I promise”

Rev. Father:

“By virtue, therefore of the powers vested upon me as Spiritual Director of this parish, I hereby
admit and proclaim you as member of the Catholic Women’s League, St. Joseph’s Unit, Kiangan
Mission and from today, you have the duties and prerogatives belonging to you as such, under
the constitution and by laws of the Catholic Women’s League”

II. BLESSING OF THE PIN

(The Secretary moves forward to the Spiritual Director to present the pin for blessing)

His Reverence:
Rev. Father- Our help is in the name of the Lord

Response- Who made the heaven and earth

Rev. Father- The Lord be with you

Response- And also with you

Let us Pray

O God, by whose word everything becomes holy, pour out your blessing on this pin and
grant that whoever uses this according to your will and give thanks to you, may receive health of body
and holiness of soul while invoking your Most Holy name, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

III. IMPOSITION OF PIN

Master of Ceremonies:

“May we now request the Inducting Officer to impose the CWL Pin on the new member”

Master of Ceremonies:

“The pin is the badge of a CWL member and is token of her membership in the organization.
This act symbolizes the unity that binds all officers and members together from the National to
the Diocesan to the Parochial level, to hold each other steadfast to the promise contained in
the motto, CHARITY, WORK, and LOYALTY.

IV. CANDLE CEREMONY

(The secretary holding an unlighted candle goes before His reverence, who gives light to her candle)

His Reverence:

“I light this candle that the love of God be the sole motivation behind all your work in the
organization”

(The secretary goes to the new member to light her candle)


Master of Ceremonies:

“This is now the candle ceremony. This symbolizes that the Catholic Women’s League works in
its Apostolate in collaboration with the Hierarchy and the LOVE ever on fire which should burn
within us for God and our church to warm us in our mutual work.

V. THE PLEDGE

(The Inducting officer moves forward to lead the pledge)

Inducting Officer:

“Please hold your lighted candle with your left hand, raise your right hand, and repeat the
pledge of membership after me. Remember, we are pledging our service to Christ, THE LIGHT
of the world. May we request all other CWL members present to please stand and renew their
pledge together with us”

PLEDGE

“I/ freely and joyfully/ join the ranks of the Catholic Women’s League/ convinced that I am
answering the call of Christ/ and trusting in the help of His grace/ I hereby pledge myself/ to be an
apostle in my family/ in my section and in my social sphere/ by prayer work, and example/ and by living
a truly Catholic life. / May God and our Blessed Mother/ help me to keep my pledge.”

VI. THE BLESSING

Rev. Father:

“Virginia Licyayo, a new member of the Catholic Women’s League, St. Joseph’s Unit of Kiangan
Mission, remember to be faithful to your solemn pledge. May Christ, our Supreme Leader, and
our Blessed Mother enlighten, help, and bless you”

Unit President:

“I officially welcome you to the sisterhood of the Catholic Women’s League, St. Joseph’s Unit,
Kiangan Mission”
VII. PROFESSION OF FAITH

(Recited together with the congregation since it is done within the mass)
