With the diverse and wide range of visually 

stimulating materials and of craft pieces and the


observation of works of art, each of us individuals are given various opportunities in handling and better
understanding the word around us.
1. It gives us the opportunity in developing our Personal and Social Skills.
First here, visual arts give us the chance to interact, cooperate with other people and participate within
groups. Visual arts-related activities do not just give us the platform for fun and enjoyable experience
rather, it inculcates within an individual to encourage creativity and assist with the development of fine
motor skills and spatial awareness through a collaborative process. When an individual is placed within
a group, it gives him or her the opportunity to learn to be patient whether it is with just the simple
distribution of art materials to the group or even being patient on the actuality of creating an artwork.
Another one, it hones the individual to take shared responsibility within the group, it teaches them that
creating art with group people should not be egocentric rather, it should be altruistic that even you
create art individually, you value having concern with other people, even through showing simple care
with art materials you are able to exhibit valuing your responsibility. Another one is the chance to learn
being generous to others, simple way of just sharing art materials with other people, it teaches you to
compromise at times and be fair to others. Through such action and behavior, it can even possibly
establish profound relationship to the people around you. Another one, through personal and social
skills, you can indicate your own needs as well as show sensitivity to the needs of other people.
Moreover, through collaborative work, you are able to share your knowledge to other especially through
activities wherein you care to show how the task can be possibly done. On the same manner, you learn
also to seek the help of other people, appropriately and as necessary. Lastly, you learn through the
personal and social skills to initiate activities and suggest solution to problems.

2. It gives us the opportunity to experience and utilize ICT.


Through ICT or Information and Communication Technology, you learn to value and associate yourself
with the digital world and with modern technologies. Through this opportunity, you are given the chance
not just to experience but most importantly, to learn how to access art programs and software that
would aid you to generate digital artworks. More to this, it teaches you to become technologically
literate, through learning how to properly utilize the technology, it provides and equips you with
necessary skills about computer programs and other applications or software on other devices.
3. It gives us the opportunity to develop our Mathematical Skills.
Visual art does not superficially give you what is literally within a work of art, rather, it aids you to
experience and explore various color, form, shape, space, texture, and pattern, and learn how to
practically apply them to your own artworks and crafts. You learn how to properly use ratio whether its
is one to one correspondence or even known whether there is a need for more or less when we create
art or when mixing materials. Moreover, you also learn to develop spatial awareness through making
small scale and large-scale constructions. Lastly, you are able to explore cause and effect and develop
problem solving skills. The act of exploring and trying new ideas develops individuals mind as
a critical thinker and problem solver as they consider and make choices.

4. It gives us the opportunity to enhance and hone our Communication Skills.


Communication skills through visual arts enables us to respond in a variety of ways to everything that
we either see, hear, smell, touch or feel. Moreover, it lets us describe colors used, materials used, and
processes involved through our own understanding and context. We also learn to effectively use
language to make choices and express needs especially in relation to materials needed. Also, to use
language to predict outcomes of activities, to communicate about work in progress, and to recall past or
finished activities. Communication skill also teaches us to properly use sequencing skills in order to
exhibit our ideas properly and effectively. Lastly communication skills aid us to use language to
communicate ideas, our likes, and dislikes.
5. And lastly, it gives us the opportunity to improve even our Physical Skills.
Physical skills are mainly about the techniques and styles that we utilized and apply when we create
artworks. Through repetitive behavior and practice of creating visual arts, we learn to develop fine-
motor skills where in our body especially our muscles learn and be able to precisely do an action. This
mainly happens when we draw or paint as we extensively need our hands in doing such activity. Here
also involves the hand-eye coordination, just like what I have previously stated, we extensively use our
hand when we create art but of course, we also need the eyes to see if we are doing it properly and
aesthetically. Thereby, the hand and eye must communicate properly. Moreover, it also involves your
skills in utilizing tools and also of materials, when we create art and also of crafts there are various
ways of utilizing materials and tools to communicate better our creativity. Thus, having physical skills is
vital in better understanding various and diverse forms of visual arts.
