The present COVID-19 pandemic has brought extraordinary challenges and has

affected the education sector, and no one knows when it will end. Our country is
presently implementing plans and procedures on how to contain the virus, and the
infections are still continually rising.
In the educational context, to sustain and provide quality education despite lockdown
and community quarantine, the Department of Education implemented the blended
learning to ensure that education must continue amid this global health crisis we are
experiencing. The “New Normal” was initiated as a solution to carry out every
school’s Learning Continuity Plan. This Learning Continuity Plan was established in
order for every public school to continue to operate amidst the life-taking risks
brought by pandemic.
Dupax del Norte National High School ensures and prioritizes the safety of learners,
teachers and other school personnel from this infectious disease. It is a big
challenge for the school to prepare the school facilities and one of the of the
requirements in Department of Education is the construction of school hand washing
facility to be used in this time of pandemic should incase face-to-face instruction will
push through any time.
In DepEd’s report there are only half of the 35,005 schools in the country have
access to handwashing facilities with soap and water. DepEd also reported that
3,628 public schools have no regular source of clean water.
At present, the school has only three hand washing facility and this cannot
accommodate 723 learners who enrolled in this present school year. Furthermore,
the school has insufficient school fund for the procurement of hygiene kits and
construction of wash facility since we prioritized expenses in the reproduction of Self
Learning Modules of the learners.
In this time of health crisis, knowing that the community and the school are two
important social institutions and it is important that schools and communities should
work closely with each other to meet their mutual goals in ensuring the health and
safety of our learners.

In the light of the reasons mentioned above, the proponents have strategized a
project entitled, SHARE which has the ultimate goal to strengthen linkages with the
active partnership with the community and other stakeholders to Share Happily And
Rech-Out Effectively to our learners and to come up with a fund in order for the
school to construct additional hand washing facility, provide hygiene kids and other
resources that .This project is humbly presented to the government agencies, private
individuals and Non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) with much hope that their
positive response would realize the project.
