POINT TO POINT INTERNET – PROJECT PROPOSAL FOR BRGY.

SAN JOSE GERONA

I. RATIONALE

The said brgy. has no internet provider of any kind (PLDT, Converge, etc.). What residents
usually use are prepaid mobile data wherein this mode is costly and is usually prone to poor
internet connection than the previously mentioned.

Point-to-point system also known as P2P is the most convenient and cost-effective way to
provide internet access. Point-to-point protocol over Ethernet allows users to avoid special
support from usual internet service providers while enjoying minimal equipment requirement.
Private individuals are currently the ones providing this kind of internet service. Users merely
require a router, at least two devices and an Ethernet cable. This internet provider can also
accommodate several devices at ones. P2P is a safe and a secure provider which will be
appreciated by the people of San Jose since this will be the first internet service provider in the
said area.

Point-to-point networks provide a variety of benefits which include the following:

1. Speed – P2P networks can transport large volumes of information instantly over a secure
network.
2. Security – Due to limited user accessibility, information shared over P2P remains secure.
3. Accessibility – dedicated private lines remain connected at all times.

The initial target clientele of this project is 30 or more households in barangay San jose Gerona
where a monthly payment for the service will be collected.
