During the early settlement, wild
pigs were abundant in a certain place
- later called Ajong. People planted
rice and corn.

But to their dismay, the plants

were always ravaged by wild pigs.So
they thought of a way to catch them.

“These wild pigs are destroying our
plants every now and then,” said one
farmer.

“It is high time for us to make

gajong,” suggested another. “Let us
deceive the animals by making holes
and cover them with grasses and
bush,” he added.

“That’s a very brilliant idea! No
hassle!” the other farmer agreed.

So they made plenty of gajong, such

that they were anywhere around the
place.

True enough, many wild pigs were
caught by the natives. It made the
farmers happy. At last! They could
have a good harvest of their planted
crops.

As time went by, the place was
known for the many gajong found
over the place.

Later on, it brought the name of

the barangay modified to its present
name, Ajong.
