5.3.2.1 Quiz- Climate Change and You May 13, 2022

How climate change and global warning will affect your chosen profession (and you of
course) when you finish college and start life as a young career-person.

The human population has a significant impact on the planet and is the primary cause of
climate change. Ecosystems are being disrupted, and wild animal habitats are being distorted, as
the human population grows and requires a greater domain to house each individual or family.
As the human population grows, so does the need for human necessities (water, housing, food,
and so on), which are mostly derived from natural resources. As a result of meeting human
wants, there is currently an imbalance within the environment. Human activity has a broader
regional impact on the environment, albeit this may be mitigated by more effective worldwide
alerts and faster distribution of food help. Massive deforestation is visible, and greenhouse gas
emissions build up in the atmosphere, warming the climate. Excessive farming has depleted
stock sizes, putting resources in jeopardy. These changes are now posing a threat to human well-
being and health, as biodiversity loss and human-caused climate change have already reached
dangerous proportions. These modifications have an impact on the entire system. Rainfall
patterns shift, with some places and seasons receiving more rain and others receiving less. The
increase in regional aridity, as well as the geographic extent and severity of droughts, is
predicted by models. As the sea level rises and greenhouse gases are released, we are
increasingly exposed to ultraviolet radiation, which poses a threat to our health. Finally, many
animal species are facing extinction.
Nurses can take personal action to reduce climate change. Eating a plant-based diet is one
way they can have a big impact, along with driving a hybrid or electric car or going car-free and
using clean energy such as solar panels. Global warming dries the air, and because nature is drier
than it should be, it is more prone to fires and their spread across the environment. It's natural for
the air to become contaminated and poisonous to the lungs of the living creatures around it when
this happens. The weather is also hotter and there is less humidity, particularly in places of the
world where summer is the most popular season. Humans as species need humid air for the lungs
to work properly; dry oxygen just doesn’t do the job well. It also affects agriculture, and this is
and for both the farmers and the people in general because when this aspect is out of balance, it
means that the food industry is also affected in a negative way that doesn’t benefit anyone.
Because of the, this would have a significant impact on not only the nursing profession, but
the entire medical profession. The consequences of climate change would cause health issues.
There would be a demand for studies on ways to combat evolving or newly discovered diseases.
It is also necessary to update and increase disaster risk reduction and management.
