Introduction to Psychology (PSY101)

Assignment Objective:
This assignment has been designed to make the students better understand the role of variables in
a research study.

Assignment Question.

Below given scenarios related to independent and dependent variables which have been discussed
in lecture 9 of your course. Please read the below mentioned scenarios and answer the following
question

 Identify independent and dependent variable for each scenario.

1. The more food that
a person eats, the

decided to explore
the link between a

performance and
mental well-being.
He found out that
students who had
greater mental well-
being performed
well academically.

Marking Scheme:
Each scenario contains two identifications
(2+2) 4*5=20
2 Marks for identification of Dependent Variable
2 Marks for identification of Independent Variable
Note:
Only in the case of Assignment, 24 hours extra / grace period after the due date is usually available to
overcome uploading difficulties which may be faced by the students on last date. This extra time should
only be used to meet the emergencies and above-mentioned due dates should always be treated as final to
avoid any inconvenience.

other reference books also.
