Project Brain Twister: Preparing-Designing Activity Worksheets and Teaching Supplementary

Materials for Science using Adobe Indesign Software is a form of innovation that the teacher should be
acquainted to evolution of teaching materials specially making contextualized worksheets and
supplementary materials that can be used in teaching.

This SLAC session on Project Brain Twister: Preparing-Designing Activity Worksheets and Teaching
Supplementary Materials for Science using Adobe Indesign Software is designed to empower teachers in
using the available software (Adobe Indesign) in providing contextualized learning materials, intended
for remedial classes due to suspension of classes, disruptions of classes due to school programs, as well
as designing materials that would supplement the least mastered competencies. Therein, the teachers
are encouraged to develop materials that will establish a learner-centered culture by using teaching
strategies that respond to learners’ linguistic, cultural, socio-economic and religious background.

Looking forward on the output of the SLAC, the teachers are expected to provide variety of
learning materials that will give opportunities to attend the learners individual group learning needs,
and engages learners to participate, cooperate, and collaborate in continuing learning. Therein, activities
were designed carefully that ensures learners will engage and experience learning with cooperation and
collaboration with others. It also aims to develop a comprehensive material that is complex but not
complicated to understood by the learners. Further the development of the activity sheets was pursued
to teach students independent learning - where they could set their own goals, assess their own learning
and facilitate learning without the physical presence of the teacher.

The benefit of the teachers and the learners from this program was to pursue the teaching and
learning process independently from the physical classroom experience. Herein, the activity sheets
creates another environment of distance learning modality where learning drills and assessing without
the physical presence of both teacher and learner was made possible. As of this time in the midst of
pandemic, the learning materials provided by the DepEd is still limited and would attend all the different
needs of different individuals. Creating such materials empowers the learner to create environment that
sustains learner’s active engagement and self-motivating independency.

Objective 7: Work with colleagues to share successful strategies that sustain supportive environment
that nurture and inspire learners to participate, cooperate and collaborate in continued learning.
