1) “Dialogue writing”

The wrong furniture was delivered to the customer, so the customer calls the customer
service to explain the problem, this is how the conversation started.

Haiqa: hello, this is HM furniture’s customer service, how may I help you?

Customer: hello I am Ms Salahuddin speaking, I ordered some furniture from your shop a
week ago and the furniture just got delivered yesterday, and there seems to be a problem.
(She said in a firm tone)

Haiqa: what seems to be the problem?

Customer: the furniture that I received was not what I ordered. (Sigh)

Haiqa: on what did date you place your order?

Customer: 3rd of august.

Haiqa: can you given me you furniture order number?

Customer: hold on, I will go get the receipt.

(40 seconds later the customer returned with the receipt)

Haiqa: can you tell me the invoice number written at the top right?

Customer: it is 45632.

Haiqa: okay, please hold for a moment

Customer: ok

(10 seconds later)

Haiqa: you ordered a purple double deluxe bed, is that correct?

Customer: yes, but the furniture I got was a purple single deluxe bed.

Haiqa: okay wait, let me check in my records.

Customer: okay

Haiqa: yes, you are right ma’am. This almost never happens at our shop, I sincerely
apologise for the inconvenience.

Customer: how will this problem be solved now? (She said eagerly)

Haiqa: could you bring the bed back to the shop?

Customer: it is not my fault that the wrong furniture got delivered to my place, so how can I
arrange a truck? You should arrange for the furniture to be picked up from my house.
(Angrily)

Haiqa: okay ma’am we will get it picked up some time later today and your purple double
deluxe bed will be delivered to you.

Customer: thank you. (Relieved)

(Haiqa hangs up)

2) “Letter writing”
August 10, 2020

Miss Lucy,

Dear Lucy,
Hi, how are you? I got your letter.so excited to hear that you are coming to study in my town
next year. The university you chose is an excellent choice and it is world renowned.

There are many apartments available right next to the university where students can share or
choose to stay by themselves, my father can arrange for a suitable apartment for you when
you arrive. All sorts of telephonic job are available at the call centres so you can easily work
and study simultaneously. If you can send your CV I could drop them in for you. As for the
language problem we can hire a tutor who can give you Urdu language classes.

together. Studying in the same university will give us more time together. I assure you that
you will get the best possible education here. I hope I have answered to all of your queries. If

3) “Paragraph writing”

It was a bright sunny day and life was just the way it should be. I had a perfect job, was
married to the most handsome man in the world and had two beautiful children. In this bliss I
felt the calm before the storm and suddenly there was a weird loud sound coming from
outside, it was so loud that it was deafening .I looked outside the window and I saw spiral
smoke arising from different spots. My husband and I left our children home and went
outside to investigate. We saw many people screaming, running here and there as if they were
running for their lives. As we went closer to the spiral smoke, we saw people getting sucked
into the spiral, their bodies were being torn apart from the pressure of being sucked in. There
was blood everywhere. I was terrified. I broke down and couldn’t feel my legs anymore. My
husband held me, helped me walk and dragged me away from the spiral .i was amazed to see
that we reached our home in a second. My husband could run at the speed of light. He might
have gained this power from the spiral smoke that had mixed in the air. Then we saw that
many people and houses were floating in the sky as if there was no gravity but we were on
the ground. Then we went inside the house and saw that our children were flying and they

could make any toy they touched start flying too so then we came up with an idea to fly out
of here in our car. Just as the car started flying, we could see the spiral smoke coming out
from our house and then it sucked our house in. we were all thankful that we got out of the
house in time. The car kept flying up high into the sky. There we could see the whole world
in chaos as if the entire planet was going to be sucked into the spiral. With the speed of light.
We entered a parallel universe. Where we landed on another earth. Just like us there were
many other families who had made it safely to this planet.

4) “Picture story”
Ayumi belongs to a small town in Bahawalpur, where she had lived all her life. She had just
completed her studies so she thought that this was the perfect opportunity for her to fulfil her
lifelong dream of enjoying the snowfall. She had a collection of snow domes in her room, she
often shook them up and was always mesmerised by the beauty of snow falling. She booked
herself a week long holiday in Quetta. Her flight was 22h long as there was no direct flight.
On her arrival she felt the cool breeze touch her cheeks and although she was wearing her
jacket, gloves and hat, it was still freezing cold .The next morning after she was all rested,
she got dressed to go outside. It was just as she imagined there was beautiful scenery. She
loved the cold weather, only if it would snow it would had made it complete. She went to the
shops nearby and asked the locals there. They said that usually it snows on alternate years
and it did snow last year. This made Ayumi kind of scared as she was terrified of the fact that
she might not be able to see the snow. Then 5 days passed. The weather was really cold, just
it still didn’t snow. Ayumi was almost about to give up. On her 6th day there, as she opened
the curtains in her room she was surprised. She couldn’t believe her eyes. It was snowing.
She quickly got dressed up and went outside with excitement. Everything was white. The
ground was covered with snow. All the bare trees had snow on them. Snow made everything
look beautiful. Her heart was singing with joy. As the snowflakes fell on her she felt as if she
was inside the snow dome. She was finally living her dream.
