THE EYES
Tina was assigned to report about the different senses in her class but she has
been very curious about how the eyes work. What special parts does each eye possess? Tina
did a research and this is what she found.
Imagine a light that bounces off an object you have set your eyes on. This enters
your eyeball through a clear plastic covering called cornea. Then a light enters a black spot or
hole . This tiny hole is the pupil found in the center of the iris which is the colored circle in your
eyes. When it is dark, the muscles in the iris make the pupil larger and when it is bright the pupil
gets smaller. Then this light passes through the lens found behind the pupil then goes through
the inside of the eyes filled with clear liquid that seems like a jelly. As sson as it passes through
this area, the light touches the back of your eye called retina where tiny nerves are found. These
nerves interpret the light and send the message to a big nerve where the message travels to
your brain. The brain receives and understands the message. The brain then tells you what you
have seen. This wonderful work is a gift to us by God.Our eyes make us see the beauty and
wonder of the things around us. Without our eyes, our world will probably be a sad place to live
in. Let us show God how we appreciate the gift of sight by taking care of our eyes very well.
