Description/content Specialisation Trade and Retail:


The degree programme is focussed on international trade and retailing specialised for the textile
and clothing industry. Students are prepared for the management of international companies of
this business. The specialisation contains lectures about International Marketing, International
Accounting, Financing, Global Trade and its Regulations, Retail and Advanced Management Skills.
Innovations in Textile Technology and Advanced Quality Management are further subjects.

Specialisation Technical Textiles:


The degree programme is focussed on technical textiles specialised on surface functionalisation
and protective clothes. Students are prepared for the management of international companies
specialised in innovations in textile technology. The specialisation contains lectures about all
production processes for that business (spinning, weaving, knitting, finishing and pattern making)
as well as advanced management skills and advanced quality management.

Project work as well as applied research work is an essential part for both specialisations.

Requirements / Registration

Academic admission Bachelor's degree in the field of Textile and Clothing Technology, Textile or Clothing
requirements Management, Textile Chemistry, Textile or Fashion Design with 210 credit points or seven
semesters at a German university or equivalent at a foreign university

(In case of a Bachelor's degree with 180 credits, you have the possibility to earn an additional 30
credits during the Master's studies or by providing six months' practical experience in textile and
clothing technology after graduation.)

Final grade of at least 2.5 (on a scale from 1.0 [very good] to 4.0 [minimum passing grade])

Language requirements Applicants must provide proof of their English skills.


English: TOEFL: 100 (internet-based) or IELTS band 7.0 or equivalent

If you have completed a Bachelor's programme taught in English, you need no additional proof but
a confirmation from your university.

Possibility of finding part- Applicants should not count on financing their stay in Krefeld or Mönchengladbach by working
time employment part-time during their studies. However, some students are successful in finding part-time jobs
either at the university or elsewhere.
